But you can visit us at http://www.cheapservers.net to check out prices on dedicated servers and we can indeed work out a lease to own. You might also want to see about buying the server and colocating it. 086nets 09-22-2000, 08:09 PM wow those server is cheap!! but are they reliable? and what do I need to know before I get a dedicated server? cause all i know is how to work cgi, htaccess, html, the basics.. and that all.. Is there some stuff i really need to know before getting a dedcated server? I'd go into every detail, but I don't have 2 weeks to spare at the moment :) I think dilatoneinternet.com also had a lease to own offer of some sort, though it isn't too easy to find.. I believe it is under "SERVICES" (within the dedicated or colo features pages) if it is still there at all... cbaker17 09-22-2000, 09:34 PM Yes you do need to know some basic admin stuff even if you have a control panel. w/0 the control panel you need to know alot of stuff :) Chris_Ruim 09-23-2000, 02:17 AM I've had a server for 9 months over at Superb Internet, 3 more months and that baby is mine. Then I just pay colo fees. Chris Ruim 086nets 09-23-2000, 09:47 AM accually the control panal is not a concern.. but lets say the server go crazy.. then I am in trouble.. but do you people like minitor the servers.. not just if the hardware is working .. but if the server in that machines is also workign properly cbaker17 09-23-2000, 10:53 AM Most places including us offer a monitoring service where we will monitor ports on your machine. If one goes down it will email or page you. |
