My previous post go no replies - I would appreciate any help you can give on this one.
I am using my RaQ as my DNS server. When I type in www.mydomain.com it resolves to ns.mydomain.com. I would like to not have the ns in the URL my customers see. I have only one IP to work with.
My RaQ3 is set up (network settings) as:
Host: ns Domain: mydomain.com
Pri DNS: myIP Sec DNS: ColoIP
My Colo has set my reverse DNS settings to ns.mydomain.com .
I have the following DNS records:
mydomain.com ==> myip
ns.mydomain.com ==> myip
www.mydomain.com ==> myip
(with corresponding PTR's)
my virtual sites list shows: ns.mydomain.com and www.domain2.com.
When I changed my host name (under network settings) to www, I lost the ability to resolve domain2.com - but www.mydomain.com came up fine (with the www in the URL).
My registrar points both domains DNS to ns.mydomain.com.
SO what can I do to allow my DNS server to function, but have my primary domain not have an ns in the URL?
Thanks!!
