View Full Version : dont go for wzpro accounts

dont go for wzpro - with unprecedented downtimes bugging their clients for the last 3 or 4 months and the fact that they took nearly one month to change a server, wzpro promised that services will be normal from 1st Sept - far from normal they are having persistent downtimes continuing ( both internetseer and qwkmon net reports), mail problems, subdomain problems perl modules missing so that you cannot run IB, GD lib absent so you have a crippled php and worse of all, all of their sites down including support for last 24 hours and ftp and mails for almost 48 hours - all these happening even after almost 2 weeks have passed after their much announced date of returning normalcy.
This post is to just inform , not to flame wzpro, that those wanting a little bit of serious webhosting or having online transactions should better avoid them
for their promises have failed again and again
they have lots of posts and replies in the support forum but sadly no real results of things being put back to normal - no real action despite emails and support requests
they always have got this reason and that reason why things are happening like this but we fail to see what even $20 or $ 30 hosting like valuablehost or terabyte can deliver - why they cannot deliver at a near double price

and please dont ask - why you are not leaving them -
ours is a prepaid account for one year so cant just leave now
and we dont want any fellow webmaster to suffer the same agony

I am not compalining against wzpro nor seeking any redressal from them for they offer none ( the latest being their 1st sept hoax) - I have no grievance but just advising if you go with them you will be a sufferer for sure.

Dear Rinchin,

As far as i know worldzonepro.com was a great host and still is. Webdude must be trying everything in his command to fix these problems. Also, moving from two servers is not a very simple migration, i am moving from a Ensim server to a Plesk server & trust me it can be a real headache with alot of problems.

dear Hostexp,

I am also willing to beleive what you say but 2 months is a little too long time bear patiently. Its also frustrating when things for which you laboured hard and which worked perfectly nice before ceases to work for weeks at stretch ( for example perl and IB) and when promises fail not once twice or thrice but repeatedly over the last 6 or 7 months. My advice was to small businesses - many have already signed out though it is true thousands new may have signed in. While Webude is a repectable guy in the trade, he himself said in the forums ( that post stands deleted) that he would have signed out of such a poor service if he was a client.
It is sad that neither perl nor php ( missing gd etc ) - not even mails and subdomains are working properly - why do you go for a paid account after all ?
and near 24 hours downtime in a single day? I am yet to hear !
they also had unique problems of being unable to send mails to aol email addys.
All hosts have problem but if you scan the forums of wzpro, valhost, aletia and wht( for terabyte) you will see wzpro has more than a fair share of unsolved problems burdened on their clients.

btw - are plesk better than ensim ? terabyte seems to be using any one of this after they have stopped cobalt but Keeg is tightlipped on this and they also decided not to put any forums on their site ( after keeping the link to forums for months) - I just cant make up my mind whom to go with for a second account ? valuablehost or tera ? these two are undoubtedly the leaders as far as my own tests as also the reports in this forum.
some host in the wht advert forum said 99% uptime guarantee means uptime of the server not the noc - thats meaningless for a webmaster as all that we want is 99%+ [ the more the .9s after the 99 the better :) ] uptime for our site and good speed.what is valhosts perception of 99.9 in this respect ? another thing I found true is that ( as someone mentioned already in the vhost-forums)that qwkmon does not detect the urls listed in vhost testimonial pages - hope that will pass off with new server [??]

to conclude - my post was not to add any bad repute to wzpro but just an advice about their current scenario - signing not with them NOW is surely a better option at the present moment - as nothing is static things may change in future - there is always an option for the client to change to what suits him/her then.

thanks .

ps : as I am writing this post wzprosupport as well as hosted sites have gone down again

Plesk is more stable and has more features then Ensim. Ensim has servere sendmail problems, also if you would like to ask any questions or contact me, please do so via a PM.

Indeed, it is a sad day..........
I had once praised worldzonepro to be the best all around hoster out there.... Low cost, reliable, and fine support.

I do have the greatest love for WebDude and his efforts.
However, things have just simply gotten out of control.
Worldzone pro is no longer as professional as it should be.

It saddens me so......

Happily though, I have sense transfered to Hostiva..... :D
These guys are top of the line and know what they are doing.

I used to think that because they didn't have a forum for a time that it wasn't a good place, but they have one now, and the fact is, as far as their support is concerned it is top notch and practically immediate.

I am proud to say that there is a new place in town that offers superior support, with the lowest priced features than any other.
Thanks Hostiva..... :)

oh... and I'm just expressing my opinion as a consumer, who seeks after the highest quality products for the lowest price.

Good Luck Worldzone...... Hooray for Hostiva..... :)

Leeuniverse - do you know where can I get a testimonial or satisfied client list for hostiva ?
Hostiva dont seem to provide the 99% uptime guarantee that some hosts do or did I miss it ?

Well, I would be the first to admit that it is indeed dark times for the WZ services right now. Seems one problem after another and each problem puts us between a rock and a hard place. Tonight(wed) we are currently moving everything(on pro) over to another server in the cluster. When they told me to do this.....well, this is a public forum so wont go into my first thoughts and what I had felt like saying....but it is being moved. The server is going in for warranty repairs. Personally I dont think it's a hardware issue, but as said, many decisions are out of my hands.

With that being said, during the problems we are not accepted any signups for Pro....and as said before by me on our own forums, we wont be until everything is fixed.

It's unfortunate that try as I might, this much still goes wrong. Pro will be back up to it's original standard, and wont take signups till then.....I just wish I knew when. I had hoped that under the new system all would go great and I could get a life, but it looks like life will have to wait a little longer :(

The company still has one thing going for them, I havent gotten frustrated enough to quit just yet....I still feel I can get Pro back to it's original standard..

Neha, this question isn't appropiate in this thread, please pm me if you have questions.

Also webdude i know you have great passion for WzPro, you have been a member of FWS for quite sometime, the forums wouldn't be the same without you.

to me valuablehost also seems equally good to Hostiva though hostiva's unlimited subdomain is a plus point.Hostiva s forum is not accessible due to some reason. Also Hostiva dont seem to provide the 99% uptime guarantee that valuablehost does or did I miss it ?

webdude,

although it seems that you are having great troubles as of late, I respect the way you are handling this(i.e no denials etc.)

Hope you are able to clear things up and get back up on your feet.

Dear Host Exp,

I have deleted the portion. I dont want to pester you with emails for every small query. One thing though - I find Keeg is having no problem with Ensim. I understand personal choices and requirements will vary but just for a good gk and technical curosity I started a thread on "Plesk or Ensim ?" the more geeky guys here must have some good answers ( pros and cons) to tell us.
Thanks Host Exp :)
(out of the point - but your forum has the best color combination of all the vbbs I have seen - may be u should allow us to copy ur color scheme of course after paying u a fees like vbb :D )
