trying to get to managed.com and doing traceroutes.

Any idea whats up with the server?

I can't get to their site or my server. I guess we will see what they say about their 99.9% uptime guarantee.

I guess assertive networks is having some problems, not sure what it is.

I know MSG is running on a BigIron 8000 doing its L3 Routing i believe. It might have crashed from the BGP Routes, im unsure though.

Will ask for more details from the guys!

Greetings,

We had a minor issue with BGP routing tonight. According to the engineering team, our BGP announcement got "dampened" because of too many route changes in a short amount of time. We lost our connection to the backbone provider for about 30 minutes and the engineering team worked to correct it immediately.

It would have been less than 30 minutes, but AboveNet took awhile to reset our BGP routes on their side.

There is no reason route dampening should cause an outage if your network is well designed. I'm not thrashing you I'm just saying you need to crack the whip on your network guys.
