Im not sure where this should go, if its the wrong forum can a mod please move it :)

Where would be a good place to advertise a hosting forum?
Im trying to get my hosting forum a bit more popular and would like to start advertising in a few places, anyone have any suggestions?
Im thinking of advertising on some webmaster forums, anyone know any good ones that offer advertising?

Also want to do banner exchange with some sites if possible.

If anyone has any information of where I can do this please let me know.
Thanks,
John

Isn't there enough hosting forums? You are just feeding traffic to HostingTalk.com/HT.com with that domain. I suggest you get a different one, that is my first suggestion.

I have had the domain for around a year now..
When I got it there were only around 2 hosting forums that I knew of but since then a load have started up.

It looks nice and all, but you have 63 members. Competing against a place like WHT (50,000+ members) is nearly impossible. For every member you get, WHT will get 10 more, or 100 more. It will be very hard to keep people as well, because as soon as they find boards with more content/users, they will move.

If you really want advertising spaces, try advertising on some popular webmaster sites, phpnuke.org, webmasterworld.com, etc.

actually, you CAN compete against WHT (if you have thousands of dollars to throw out to advertise on yahoo, msn, etc.) :D

I don't think WHT is the place to be trying to compete with anyway. Don't be so negative Kohashi.

CH, try advertising in places that are more geared towards webhost owners...Maybe ping! zine?

Yeah Im not trying to be another WHT, trying to do something different :)
There are other sections on the site but they havent been linked to the forum header yet, have articles, a directory of webost resources and Im working on a database for hosts to submit their company to and members can post comments on the host so its not just the forum :)

Thanks Reality Hosting for the suggestion, was thinking about that myself and then someone on the HT forum said about advertising in a mag.
If anyone from ping zine is reading this please contact me, if not I will contact them soon myself.

Thanks again
John
