My servers are all colocated at a datacenter a few miles from my house. However, once in a while I'd get a frozen server and have to drive my butt down there the reboot and do the manual fsck stuff.

So then I heard about KVMs over tcp/ip. I found a few such as Avocent Telereach. But they're so damn expensive.

What do you guys use to remotely configure/reboot servers, if any?

heh, depending on the time of day(traffic wise) I love to go to my datacenter. About the rebooting remotely when a server is frozen I would look at a rebootable power supply. My noc had one installed already so Im not sure on pricing, but basicly you can log into the powersupply and reboot the servers.

I've colocated with Verio in the past and they offered the rebootable power supply. However, this is not enough especially when I either need to go into BIOS or if Linux tells me I need to do fsck manually.
