Ok. Now I just got a "Welcome to HR" email that you get when you sign up. Looks like im on Host 18 now? I hope this is all normal right?

I would double-check that email with support before changing the nameservers for the account. I had a problem a few months ago with an account hosted by HR at the time. Short story is that they sent me a "welcome" email with the wrong server in it. Took an extra week to get everything working because of the 5 days I spent wondering why the new nameservers weren't working. I think maybe they use a standard email with the newest server on it that sends out whenever they reset an account or anything like that.

HR often asks for the first 2 and last 4 numbers from the credit card you used as a form of verification that it is, in fact, the correct person asking for changes to be made to the account. There is nothing funny in asking this & it isn't meant to be any sort of monkey business. It really is done for the good of the customer.

That being said, I can understand your frustration with not knowing what is going on. HR does good work. The only real problem I had with them was that they did not do a very good job of communicating what work they were doing very well. Unfortunately, in a business where you never get to see the person on the other end, communication is a number 1 priority for me. It is why I no longer have any sites hosted there.

Good luck,
Rev. Hartwig

Yes I know, I just didnt wanna do it again cuz I dont have my wallet with me (at work, left it there in my office like a moron).

Well telnet is back and normal for me, however now I gotta add my 2 user accounts into mySQL but since phpmyadmin still gives me 404, I dont know how else I can do it and I dont know what the telnet commands are for it..

Hi,

Your site was moved over to a newer server, and was in the process of being moved when you were getting these errors. Im not sure if it got done because I wasnt being cc'd on the letters or anything but you should have gotten an email about this once the move was completed letting you know what it was that was going on, from the tech moving your account. These forums arent really in place for people to post tech support questions as they are questions you would normally ask a host not other forum members.

The nameserver change does not matter as your old DNS zones were updated to point to your new server location once the move was made and the data was verified.

I replied to your latest reply on the TT.

As for not posting here, I see quite a few threads similar to mine so I dont think its out of place. If it is then my bad.

Its not really out of place just not really necessary to have the same conversation started at 3 different locations.

Hi all, Ive been with Hostrocket for about 6 months now, never had a problem, until recently.

Their servers have been rocking more than a rocking chair ! Every few hours, its down. Sometimes, it gives errors that the data is not there, which is basically putting users OFF my site !!

I have written a letter of complain to them on HIGH priority, and have received nothing yet. Its really annoying as I payed for this service and should be treated first class.

Thanks for reading out

If your change password button is not working, you are trying to select a password that is not allowed. The button itself definatly does work. We have both a ticket system and a forum available for you to post these questions in back at our site.

If your site is 'down' right now its most likely because your ISP is caching your old IP that your site was at before your site was moved between servers, not because the actual site or web page isnt being served. Send in a ticket if you havent already, and it will get taken care of right away if there is a problem.

The instability that cyrus was talking about was related to the servers being slightly overloaded and that causing our server stabalization script to shut down the web server for 30 seconds every once and a while. This was resolved by moving about 30 accounts off of those servers yesterday which is pretty much what caused these other peoples problems. As of now however all of these things should be resolved and running much better than they were beforehand.

for your information, I have tried aLL kind of password, long ones short ones, with numbers, without , starting with numbers, ending in numbers aso and so on. How the hell is a password supposed to be ?!?!?

Send in a ticket if you havent already, and it will get taken care of right away if there is a problem.

So you idea of RIGHT AWAY is 3-4 days after you send the ticket ?? clever thinking (!)

yeh yeh , blah blah blah, yabba yabba yabba, I can talk about stuff that people dont understand either. We dont want to know that mate ! ' Why the hell did it happen in the first place ??' One time, two times, three, ok fair enough, servers are 100% reliable. But for weeks on end we have problems with the server and worst still, no one to listen to the problems I explain about it.

Host Rocket STILL sucks.

Score update:
Cyrus 1 - 0 Host Rocket

As far as those passwords, I've noticed that common aka dictionary words are usualy rejected as being too easy to guess/hack.

Thats why I use obsenities for my passwords. :)

Well first off lemme say I didnt start this thread in order to bash HR.

This morning I had some problems, but it was because my account was being moved to a new server. Right now everything is running excellent. My site seems to be faster loading too (and it was darn fast before the move).

I see alot of ppl complaining about turnaround time, slow response to TTs etc. I've been an HR customer since Late April of this year, and all of the TT's that I've sent, they have all been replied to promptly, the longest being a day or so. Heck, this morning when I was having probs my TTs were replied to very quicky, seemingly every hour. So I dont know what the deal is, but TTs on my end have been replied to very quickly. The support imo is very good.

Plus, for the price I get alot, cant complain there. The cpanel, transfer/space, features etc I think are outstanding at such a low price.

Overall Im very very satisfied with HR and would suggest them in a heartbeat. Just my .02 cents.

If you are having problems with passwords, crontabs, etc., you should be emailing the host, not posting these types of problems here. Once you have done this and the situation or problem has not been resolved to your satisfaction, *then* you post here telling the world your story.
