Can someone please tell me where i can find a web site that tells me things like what a gig is etc Is a gig the same as 1GB?

Space on a computer works alongside the metric system, if you are familiar with it. There are bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes and I don't know what's after that. :)

A kilobyte is 1024 bytes. A megabyte is 1024 kilobytes. A gigabyte is 1024 megabytes, and so on.

KB = Kilobyte
MB = Megabyte = Meg
GB = Gigabyte = Gig

There are several names given to a gigabyte. Like I said above, GB, Gig, 1 gig, Gigs, etc are all words that are synonyms with Gigabyte.
