View Full Version : So.. If You Think You're fluent in speaking English ... Try this without a stutter!
VNPIXEL 11-14-2003, 03:57 AM Mr. See and Mr. Soar were old friends. See owned a saw and Soar owned a seesaw. Now See's saw sawed Soar's seesaw before Soar saw See, which made Soar sore. Had Soar seen See's saw before See saw Soar's seesaw, then See's saw would not have sawed Soar's seesaw. But See saw Soar and Soar's seesaw before Soar saw See's saw, so See's saw sawed Soar's seesaw. It was a shame to let See see Soar so sore just because See's saw sawed Soar's seesaw.
:D
now thats a tough one, mucked up 3 times :D
Mekhu 11-14-2003, 04:13 AM I just felt a pop by my temple... thanks :D
RHShawn 11-14-2003, 04:17 AM damn it 3 mistakes aswell :(
TheDoctor 11-14-2003, 05:39 AM Well I must be a "smart a" or something as I didn't have a problem with it..
The trick is to just mumble incoherently .... just like a webhost explaining what he does for a living ... and nobody will notice the odd mistake or three.
Doc
JKhoury 11-14-2003, 05:42 AM messed up twice  :D

sassSE 11-14-2003, 09:23 AM :uhh:
Let me try that again....
JWise 11-14-2003, 09:44 AM I did it!!.. 0 Mistakes.. Although I wanted to mess up a few times I mastered the language we all call English. :D
Jakiao 11-14-2003, 09:50 AM That was easy to read. An easy way to read it is to be able to ignore what your mind wants to read and actually read the words. We're so used to those common words that our mind would want to associate "Soar" and "See" with their textbook meanings instead of actual names.
Ah, the English language is so messy.
Mephisteus 11-14-2003, 11:55 AM 1 mistake:( :p
tickedon 11-14-2003, 12:38 PM 1 mistake.. and I'm normally terrible at these things...
The Dude 11-14-2003, 01:20 PM I read it just fine the first time (Aloud)
The Dude :)

MGCJerry 11-14-2003, 07:28 PM This sentence totally killed me:
But See saw Soar and Soar's seesaw before Soar saw See's saw, so See's saw sawed Soar's seesaw. It
joshiee 11-14-2003, 08:02 PM I was trying to read it so slowly not to mess up, and a read one of the words backwards, i read Saw as Was.. somehow..

Jakiao 11-14-2003, 08:59 PM BEF? Where did it get BEF from?
theqase 11-14-2003, 09:05 PM It got cut off... I think it was supposed to be "BEFORE"... but it hit the maximum or something...
LanceCoder 11-14-2003, 09:38 PM 0 mistakes.. and I'm normally terrible at these as well...
Davros 11-14-2003, 09:53 PM That's something one of my old instructors at B-Casting school would have loved.
He used to pick stuff like that and make you read it out loud to practice live copy reading.
His theroy was if you could live read a tounge twister like that reading live news copy should be easy..
Needless to say I'm not a news guy.. lol
The Dude 11-14-2003, 10:04 PM Do more stuff like that HERE (http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/demos/)
The Dude :)
Jakiao 11-14-2003, 10:30 PM The thing is, it did BEF at the end of the passage too, and there was no "before" there. That's why I asked.
sid007 11-14-2003, 11:11 PM I just said see saw see saw x 100 and sounded the same ;)
kohashi 11-15-2003, 09:15 AM i messed up that same line MGCJerry, that and soar's seesaw screwed me up. The only mistake.
s.h.a.zz.y 11-15-2003, 09:17 AM That was easy enough to read...
