Hi there,

Does anyone know any good alternative than Site5? My problem with Site5 is the costly US$25 per month to be paid for domain name server. And if I got a client who want to transfer the hosting to me, they handle their own DNS setting and I give them dns.site5.com??? Or my own name server??

Without completely understanding the post, it sounds as if you are talking about a $25/mo charge for personalized, aliased nameservers (ie: ns1.yourname.com).

You may want to email site5 directly with your needs, and then consider your options.

$25/month for name servers is rediculous. There are many who supply them free of charge, or at least no more than $10/month.

And yes, your clients get *your* name servers, not Site5's.

Be lucky you got a personalized nameserver.... I asked about it several times - pointed out verbiage on their main site with all I got was... it's no longer available.

Needless to say, the verbiage that WAS on their site about this option being available is no longer posted.

Did they get tired of me asking about it? Or was it a multitude of people asking/requesting it?

Try http://www.mchost.com. They have the best customer service, personalized nameservers, and best of all, you get to customize your own packages. Try McHost. You'll really like them.

I believe Site5's Dedicated server packages are better than these reseller packages - actually, I haven't seen near or similar features in a dedicated server offering better than with Site5.
