Foreel 09-08-2001, 08:48 PM This isn't a continuation of my last thread, but is it just me, or is www.ValuableHost.com down? My site which is also on their server is also down. I haven't received any email as far as a server change, so Im wordering if it just me :) Thanks

You should really e-mail them or contact them.
This forum will not bring the server up.

I tried emailing them, and no response, but that could be because the admin is in Australia and the whole time difference... not really a big deal. Before I left to go out today about about 5:00 PM the site was down, but I thought it would be back up by the time I got back and checked (about two minutes ago). I am not complaining, I was just wondering if the admin knew about the problem, or if it was just my computer (as it often happens to be).

Chicken 09-08-2001, 09:31 PM Foreel, if your site (the server) is down for 10 minutes or so, most likely it is just a reboot. If you are wondering if it is just you, or if the server can be reached by others, you can test this yourself by performing pings or traces from other locations:

Joe, relax. Some people might not understand everything about this, or they don't know ways to check if it is their connection or a world-wide problem.
I hope the information posted above will help you Foreel, next time you are uncertian. It should give you a better indication anyhow...

HostEXP is a customer of yours and foreel is a customer of his, If you speak to your clients customers like that on a public forum where it can be viewed by umm millions what sort of impression will that give people considering using your services?
to me it would send me packing and and considering another colo or dedicated provider. If your not here to win customers then get rid of your signature and anything linking to your site because what you have done gives your company a bad rep.

Read it carefully Joe, And it does serve a purpose it shows how rude you can be, Do you own the company in your signature? if you do a small peice of advise go on a customer service course you sure sound like you need to learn how to talk to customers, Your off my list as possible provider without even doing research i think my server is off to tera-byte.
jiminsd 09-08-2001, 10:48 PM I've got to agree with Technics on this one. I am a customer (new one) of ValuableHost and my site was down for 2-3 hours today. I figured that is was just part of the server move. But JBIZ718 doesn't exactly give me a lot of confidence here. He may tell me to take a flying leap and its only $26 bucks but I'm can't imagine this is great PR for ValuableHost...
He's starting to make Hosturbo look good.
