If it is for the location of servers, my understanding is that unitedhosting has their servers at ev1servers (US) and not in UK. sprintserve 11-12-2003, 10:27 AM I was right. Here's the link: http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk/network.php IamNear 11-12-2003, 10:34 AM Well I prefer a UK based support team and UK based limited company. Its okay if the servers are based elsewhere, but essentially I want the host based in britain. IamNear 11-12-2003, 10:36 AM The reason for this is that I want to be charged in £ sterling (GBP) and with the utmost respect to the americans on this board, I feel a lot safer with a british based company for many reasons. coight 11-12-2003, 10:43 AM www.kdawebservices.com Karl is a top bloke and very professional. wheimeng 11-12-2003, 10:59 AM You can check with unitedhosting then :D support is top notch and ev1 network is pretty good but not excellent. UH-Matt 11-12-2003, 11:15 AM Just to confirm: Our servers are on EV1 in the USA. Our support is based here in the UK. UK Limited company since 1998. Thanks for the comments guys. IamNear 11-12-2003, 11:15 AM My web site is a very popular web site and needs a lot of bandwidth due to its popularity. Unfortunatelly, the site is more of a hobby and does not make any money so cost is important. KDA seems to be very expensive for the low amounts of bandwidth offered, UH is interesting and so I'm going to do some research on them. Although the best value I have found is beamhost.co.uk who seem to be ideal for what I need but the price makes me a bit curious about their stability. Does anyone have any experience with them? |
