Is it me or fastservers.net is down??

mine are down. so is fastservers.net website.

Lets see a traceroute and it will show where the problem is

Yup, It is down.

They said they are having problems somewhere between Abovenet and H.E. !?!

All 4 of my servers are down.

Routing anomaly between us and Hurricane and AboveNet apparently- we're on the case with the HE.NET network admins. Pure chaos... wheeeee.

If FastServers is on HE and its a problem betwen FastServers/HE/AboveNet why are other providers on the HE network that go through the same abovenet lines not down?

I'll give you every detail possible once this is resolved.

Because the connection that FS uses is kind of like two coffee cans with a string between them.. just Kidding... :D

I have always wondered the same thing when this happens..

Our GSR facing Hurricane is having a major seizure apparently, on call admin at Fremont has been consoled in for a few minutes already- should have a resolution soon.

This is the first outage with fastservers.net since the ms sql problem early this year (or was it late last year).

It lives again ! shame aboout the sheep we where getting quite close :)

my servers are up again, hopefully all working 100% again

Check out this thread (http://forum.fastservers.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=143) if you have any further questions, we'll be happy to explain anything more we can as well as touch on future procedures that we've enacted to hopefully streamline response time to this type of distributed, massive bottleneck.

Thanks for keeping everyone up to date.. I think if more Providers at least did this one little thing for their customers that downtime would not be so painful.

Seems like we're down again. Can't get to my server or fastservers.net.

Alright I agree this is far beyond entertaining at this time.
Perhaps the huge assault earlier caused a permanent problem on a networking node along the way, running diagnostics.... still investigating.

If an IOS (system software) upgrade or major tweak is required on any equipment vitals it will require a cycle of the network, just FYI.

We'll continue to keep you posted.

Did you guys forget to pay the electric bill??

I did my very best to warn you a network cycle was imminent. We're talking 55 seconds for a flash card replacement in a pair of critical GSRs- may have been damaged in the earlier flood & subsequent backlash.

We'll keep an eye on things throughout the evening and we will keep you posted if any lengthy procedures are required.
