Hi guys, I am new here. Someone suggests me ask the question here, hopefully I'll get an answer. :)
I got 2 hosts, host 1 only provides 5Gb transfer/Month
host 2 doesn't really care how much bandwidth I use but it doesn't allow me to setup my domain.com pop3 accout. So I want to put my site content on host 2, and use host 1 for my mail server. Any idea how I can do this?
By the way, I am using mydomain.com. My registar only allow me to change nameserver. Thanks in advence.

id suggest getting a new host, that will give you the best of both worlds.
doesnt seem to make much sense to separate them
:D
btw, id oubt very much that host2 doesnt care how much bandwidth you use. They are keepin an eye on you, guaranteed!
A host that doesn't care about bandwidth. Could it be unlimited?
You would be safe to find another host.
You could keep the html on the host that gives you 5mb and then link the graphics to the other host. Another alternative is to setup round-robin dns but then you will have to go through the hassle of updating 2 sites.

So I probably won't move :)

If you have access to your DNS records, then setup your MX (mail exchange record) to point your web site to be at IP address XXX and your mail server to be at IP address YYY.
Note: it could take a while (up to 72 hours very worst case) for the DNS changes to propagate across the internet.
If you don't have access to DNS facilities with your host, use you registrar or some other free DNS service to manage your own DNS settings.

You will need to make the changes to the DNS zone file on the Nameserver that MyDomain has the domain pointing at. I would assume that this nameserver belongs to one of your two hosts. You would have to ask them to change the MX record (Mail eXchange) in their DNS to the IP address of the server you want to handle mail. Tell them to update the main record to point to the server you want to handle HTTP traffic.
