View Full Version : Best Design for Hosting co.... addr.com hands down.
Vortech 09-08-2001, 02:26 AM I have to say addr.com has one of the best desings i have seen on any web hosting site.. There site is dog slow for me but man it looks killer..
Any other really really good sites out there????
hostjet 09-08-2001, 02:40 AM My prize for best web deisgn for a web hosting company goes to mchost.com. In my opinion, its elegant simplicity leaves addr.com's site for dead.
Vortech 09-08-2001, 02:46 AM One thing i have all ways seen wrong or should i say not right with mchost.com. No home button.. Once you get in to a page you have use the back button.. I have all ways found this bad.. But i cat't say much we forgot a home button as well on our site..LOL
Marty 09-08-2001, 02:55 AM I like burlee.com much better than addr.com. The visual appeal is better. Not as dark. Cleaner.
Vortech 09-08-2001, 03:12 AM Yea thats one is not bad ether..
RunOfTheMill 09-08-2001, 03:23 AM call me simple simon.
But i think Pegasus has the Best site of all webhosts.
(Not Most Attractive, but Best, and Most Effective, not Too Flashy, and not hard to find your way through it).
Very Effective.
For Some reason, ive always loved it :D
:agree:

very good point about mchost design, it would be good if you could click on the logo to take you to the homepage at least.
i know there are sites which look fancier, i am just a fan of simple web design.
SI-Chris 09-08-2001, 06:15 AM Actually I think Addr.com's website is a nice piece of art but a poorly designed *website.* I posted some comments here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16774
A few designs I do like are:
http://www.mediatemple.net
http://www.datapeer.com
http://www.bizhosting.com
http://www.akashik.net
and of course, the ubiquitous http://www.burlee.com
akashik 09-08-2001, 10:21 AM *blush*
Thanks Chris :)
ADDR does have a nice site but a 160k download (or whatever it is) for an idex page is pretty heavy. From a technical point of view (ie. what was done in photoshop), the designer's done some pretty neat tricks. I have to admit I've been looking pretty closely at how some of it was done lately :)

creepcolony 09-08-2001, 12:01 PM i think addr.com loads way too long
Vortech 09-08-2001, 12:51 PM Yea addr.com is very slow.. I am looking at more from the art side i guess.. I just thing some of the images are really good in there but it does not help to take a min to download on a cable modem.
http://www.mediatemple.net is really good as well i love the cable on the main site..
Rewdog 09-08-2001, 01:15 PM I like the one powersurge is now working on, but I don't think its the best. Its really hard to say, there are so many different types.

Martie 09-09-2001, 12:05 PM I have lots of favorites....guess I can come back and post them later but definitely for starters I really like
http://www.webauthorities.com
their site has changed abit but the overall design is NICE
Designed by designerduo. Same co. did cfoxhost, which was a nice design, but he has merged with VO so you cant access that site now.
:D
addr.com loads quickly for me...WOW, what an improvement.
YES--> www.akashik.net is another favorite!
the list goes onnnnn!!
creid 09-09-2001, 12:35 PM I Like Addr.com the best. Very Nice Colors and style. The best design would have been MultipleImage's New Site.
MCHost-Marc 09-09-2001, 02:22 PM Yep, we need a home button. :D I personally like http://www.mediatemple.net best ;)
Vortech 09-09-2001, 02:36 PM The more i look at mediatemple.net it is well laid out.. hehe The more i look at addr.com its still very nice looking but man what kind of server and line is that thing on.. Slow as grass going up hill.. LOL
JeremyL 09-09-2001, 02:48 PM I really like http://www.thinkhost.com 's new design
But also pwebtech.com is really nice too.
Other nominees are
hosting.com
*****.com (I am talking the site not the company ;) )
m6.net 09-09-2001, 10:20 PM I am really impressed with the new design of addr.com, but speed...
webhosting.com got a nice site too.
