I am looking for at least half to one cabinet in NYC. Basically, these are the three choices I have right now, Equinix (Secaucus, NJ), Peer1 (Manhattan, NY), and Telehouse (Manhattan, NY). Which one will you choose, and why? If you select "Other", please mention the datacenter so I can take a look. The datacenter needs to be carrier grade, however.

Thanks a bunch!

Any other inputs? Would really love to hear why you guys picked the one DC over the other.

Equinix. We are in Equinix in Chicago, and love it.

From the virtual tour, equinix DC does look impressive. The Equinix IBX dc at Secaucus, NJ is their largest datacenter, with 199000 square feet total. That will look very impressive :) However, I have not done tours to the other datacenters, so I will hold my judgement until then :)

The bad thing about Equinix is their cross connect fee at $200/month (is it one time or monthly recurring?) per cross connect.

Any other inputs are welcome and appreciated.

Find a reseller through equinix. We go through ServerCentral, who has a few cages there, and it is much more reasonable.

Equinix is simply amazing. I've never been in a datacenter like that. Some things may be a bit ridiculous, but if you go in there, you'll be extremely impressed.

I'd have to go with Equinix. Peer1, it just doesn't impress me for some reason. Equinix however, does. I can't give you any backing on why, it's just that way.

I don't know much about telehouse, so I cannot comment on them.

NAC is very impressive, also have you checked with Ev1Servers?

Chris

PS: can you define carrier grade ?

Hm, I specifically want colo space in NJ/NYC area, and hence EV1Servers are out of the option. Moreover, Ev1Servers does not do colo.

What part of NAC makes you think they are imprresive? I think they are good, but nothing really impressive.

Thanks for your input.
