I went shopping for a office PC the other day. I noticed that P4 1.5 Ghz CPU is actually US$50 cheaper than P3 1 Ghz. I was wondering why nobody is offering P4 server right now? Surely it is cheaper and possibly faster too.

I know when the first versions of the P4 came out, they were actually much slower then any P3. Intel had messed up the architecture, but due to timing and the stock market, they HAD to release something so it would please stock holders. They released V1 of the Pentium IV chip and took lots of heat for it. The new Pentium IV is faster but you maybe purchasing the Version 1 chip.
