I m new on Linux. I m trying Linux Mandrake 9.1 at my office network based on win2000 server and an Isa Proxsy server.
I m trying to connect to internet using my linux pc by using default gatway or proxy server but alwase get the error timeout for the first or your are http 407 proxy authentication required.

that is because you have to be using MSIE to connect through M$ ISA server. Try going here http://toastytech.com/evil/msproxy.html and downloading their script to allow Linuz to connect through ISA server.

Why are you using a proxy server? check out http://www.lartc.org and Mandrake 9.1 is a little bloaty iirc, you might want to try something smaller, like Debian, which also can be kept very stable and secure in the stable tree.
