Hello all I figured I'd start a new thread where everyone could show off their pets. This is my puppy chewy (you only need one guess to figure out why I named him this). He is a four month old Jack Russell Terrier. He has a lot of energy and people say they are the most difficult dogs (to train). I don't suggest you get this type of dog unless you have a lot of time and patience.

I asked my wife if I could post a picture of her kitty on the internet, and for some odd reason she freaked and told me that I must be crazy.

Into Ball Pythons are you, secludo? I've had a couple, but I'm more into the larger constrictors and venomous stuff.

It raped my paypal balance gettin those but I HAD to.

Also ordered 2 of those nice boaphile cages for 'em, another $700 on top of the snake costs.

That albino boa is sooo pretty.

Good luck with your babies!

I have kitties :) Two of them, in fact.

The attached picture is of Alexis (my older kitty) when she was a kitten. Now she is a lot larger...

And here's my tiny cat, Katie. She is a total purrball. She sits on my lap and purrs loudly all the time.

And she reads Slashdot (see photo.)

Two more... :) (I've uploaded these to our web server this time.)

Newer picture of Alexis (http://www.simpli.biz/personal/erica/pictures/alexis2.jpg)
Newer picture of Katie (http://www.simpli.biz/personal/erica/pictures/katie.jpg) (asleep with her little paws under the heater!)

I love them to death. Yes, my much-maligned maternal instinct finally shows. :o

Hey guys since you guys seem to be into reptiles what are some good places to buy snakes from. I'm looking for a rainbow boa, any suggestions?

NERD might have some Brazilian Rainbows.

http://www.newenglandreptile.com

Whatever you do, just buy it from a breeder. Or at least a small, local, family-owned type pet store. More likely to take good care of their animals.

Cute little critter.. I've always had a warm place in my heart for Reptiles..

I could never keep one who eats live food like mice and rats as a pet but none the less they still have my respect.

I'll stick with the Vegitarians and the Bug eaters.. :)

My next lizard I think will be a Chuckwalla. A cousin to the Iguana..

My reptiles have never seen a live mouse, and never will. I buy my mice frozen by the dozen and then thaw them out to feed them to the snakes.

Live mice bite, dead ones don't especially dead ones from the freezer thawed to room temp...

VH-Robert that is what is classified as the "Princess" here. She thinks she owns everything and my wife helps back that up. IGs have a tendency to get their gums stuck on their teeth giving them the appearance of growling or smiling. I love that picture though, shows her inner beast.

I like to see pictures of what I'm buying, I still can't believe there isn't a good pet shop in St Louis that has snakes.

So e-mail them and ask for pictures. They are an extremely large and reputable breeder. The only other ones I know are in Canada.

Mine have never seen a live rodent either. In fact 3 days ago I placed my latest food order from RodentPro.com -- 200 rats of various sizes :)

If you're still looking for a Rainbow Boa, check out Glades Herp (http://www.gherp.com/gherp/pages/boidstock.htm), Bob Clark Reptiles (http://www.bobclark.com/), Vida Preciosa (http://www.vpi.com) (though I'm not sure they'll have any on sale), Gary Lorio Reptiles (http://www.411web.com/G/GARYREPTIL/Default.htm), Peter Kahl Reptiles (http://www.pkreptiles.com/), East Bay Vivarium (http://www.eastbayvivarium.com/), Prehistoric Pets (http://www.prehistoricpets.com/).....The list goes on and on.

Glades is an importer/breeder/sort-of-wholesaler, Prehistoric Pets is a retail outlet, as is East Bay, the others are breeders, several of them dealing in some of the finest offspring available.

That should get you started anyway.

one thing over the years I have learned with my reptiles, and I have had a few ranging from newts to water monitors, is that if you feed them live animals, they are more agressive. I feed my albino frozen mice and vegetables and he is the most mellow reptile I have ever had.:)
