Anyone care to share what their monthly charge is for Plan B at tera-byte?
You might want to also tell the gigs and rack space used. If not the actual amount then what things are charged for. And, of course, I understand no one replying at all.

Thinking about what I have already asked them, the questions may be too specific and since I have never arranged colocation for a client before I may be overlooking something. OK, so there it is. I don't know enough about colocation to even know which questions to ask. I just find it hard to believe that my monthly charge for a 1U would be so low and that they would be willing for me to continue with such low usage. (Of course if they considered my peak, e.g. when I back up the site, to be the value for the entire month it would be more.)

Any comments?

I need to be able to ask the right questions before I bother them again.

Your question is a bit general, so I'll reponse with this: The following is an excerpt of an email conversation that I had with them:

Your Plan "B" colo special looks interesting. I just want to make sure I understand it.

Let's assume the following scenario:

1) I buy a 1U server, and install everything on it that I'd like to have running.
2) I send the server to you for colocation under your Plan B colo service.
3) I am charged a one-time $100 fee.
4) You put the server in a rack, and it is running, and everyone is happy.
5) At the end of the first month, I have used 10GB of bandwidth.
6) I am charged $25 for that month (the $25 is deducted from the $100 upfront fee, leaving a balance of $75).
7) The second month I use 30GB of bandwidth.
8) I am charged $75 for the second month, wiping out the balance of my up front fee.
9) Any subsequent month, the charge is based only upon the bandwidth that I use, charged at the rate of $2.50 per GB of bandwidth per month. There are no monthly rack charges or any other charges of any kind (charges for additional IP addresses are over and above the colo fees.).

Have I detailed the plan properly?

And the answer:

You got it...
