When you say custom search, could you have the toolbar search box hook into my search script on my website?
Chopper 11-06-2003, 05:51 AM Hello im interested in using this for a vbulletin forum. Would it be possable for the toolbar to do a search on posts in my vbulletin forum?
stingerweb 11-06-2003, 07:58 AM what kind of things can you put on it?
if you can put a few different boxes such as a google search
whois search and a few other things let me know via PM
AH-Tina 11-06-2003, 08:21 AM Interested....but need to know what the difference is between the $25 and $50 deal.
Reality Hosting 11-06-2003, 09:35 AM So the $25 doesn't come with the custom search right?
justwandr 11-06-2003, 09:52 AM very interested as well...like to know if i can add few more features to it ie like a pop up blocker etc.
pm me if you can add other features and the cost of those..

For the benefit of others, I will also answer this here. This may include a whois search, domain availability search, etc...as long as you already have the script setup (in other words, we cannot create a custom whois search script, but can have the toolbar search any pre existing search script).
Interested....but need to know what the difference is between the $25 and $50 deal.
The $25 toolbar is able to search any preexisting search engine or site search script you already have installed (i.e. Yahoo, Google, lycos, etc)
The $50 toolbar comes with a customized meta search engine, with branded results.
So the $25 doesn't come with the custom search right?
Just to clerify, for $25, you can choose any search engine you want it to search. The $50 toolbar option, will get you the search results branded with your logo.
Which can search the web for:
- Websites
- MP3s
- News
- Jobs
- Auctions
- FTP/Downloads
- and Books
(you can choose to include all or any individual search features from the above list)
very interested as well...like to know if i can add few more features to it ie like a pop up blocker etc.

For the benefit of others, I have also included the answer here as well....
The toolbar can also come with:
- popup blocker
- Babble Fish Translator™
- and IE History & Cookie cleaner
These features will be included at $5 additional per feature.
Mekhu 11-06-2003, 11:36 AM Is the popup blocker around the quality of the google ad? Sorry to ask so many questions, but this is pretty impressive.
ANMMark 11-06-2003, 11:46 AM Unfortunately, since I have never used the actual Googlebar, I couldn't fairly comment on the comparison in quality
barrywien 11-06-2003, 11:51 AM Does this come as a exe file? I maybe interested in ordering two basic toolbars, I presume they can link into vBulletin search pages?
Whats the turn around on these?
ANMMark 11-06-2003, 12:02 PM Yes. The toolbar comes with two files...an exe which is the customized branded installer, and a toolbar.cfg file, which needs to be uploaded to your server. This keeps the toolbar updated, and is essential for the toolbar to function.
The turnaround is same day, up to 3 days, depending on the amount of orders.
barrywien 11-06-2003, 12:48 PM Ah so I can update it by editing a file from my server? Sounds ideal, will be in contact in an hour or so to discuss my requirements. I am guessing its possible to put small images in the toolbar like google have done?
ANMMark 11-06-2003, 12:51 PM Actually the toolbar.cfg file is not particularly editable. It holds the functionality of the toolbar indeed, but it must be edited on our end, and sent to you, for upload, in order to be updated.
However, by all means, if you have, and are knowledgable with, VB6, you may edit the toolbar.cfg file on your own.
ANMMark 11-07-2003, 01:19 PM Last day special. Basic toolbar lowered to $15!
Reality Hosting 11-07-2003, 02:18 PM Well, wish I had waited heh!
But it's too late now I suppose.
Mark has been great to deal with as always, I think I was one of the first orders, so I did experience some growing pains as usually happens with new products.
Mark was quick to respond and address the minor miscomunications we had and fixed the problems at no additional charge.
barrywien 11-07-2003, 02:27 PM If I pay now at your special price can you hold back until next week before starting this? I am waiting to see the result of a bid I have made for a company and would ideally like to use this with that if it goes well, if not I can use it for another site.
ANMMark 11-07-2003, 03:05 PM This would be no problem. As long as the order is placed today...the price will be honored, and the build of your toolbar can be delayed until you are ready.
Reality Hosting,
Thank you for your feedback. It is much appreciated. :)
barrywien 11-07-2003, 10:18 PM I have just sent you paypal, however I would like to know if these come with original source code so I can edit my logo and links if they need to be changed in the future?
ANMMark 11-07-2003, 10:44 PM Unfortunately we can't include the source code. However, we do update them, if needed. You'll get one free update, and each additional update will be $10.
The toolbar does come, however, with a cfg file, which holds all of your toolbar's data.
WoodiE55 11-10-2003, 01:40 PM Aww looks like a few day late....
Anyone else offer these?

That was your reply to Chopper's question, yet you have just emailed me to say that it is no longer possible to do this with vBulletin's search page due to problems with sessions. I emailed you the following file in HTML format yet you have informed me that hidden fields cannot be sent be used in Visual Basic yet I heard different.
<form action="http://www.gsmtalk.co.uk/search.php" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="action" value="simplesearch">
<input type="hidden" name="forumchoice" value="-1">
<input type="hidden" name="titleonly">
<input type="hidden" name="showposts">
<input type="hidden" name="searchdate" value="-1">
<input type="hidden" name="s" value="">
<input type="text" name="query" size="35" value="nokia">
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Perform Search" accesskey="s">
</form>
What I would like to know is why you have just refunded my payment, when a refund was not requested? I paid for a service which I have yet to receive. The payment has just been resent to you.
Can anyone tell me if indeed he is correct, or if hidden fields can actually be sent using Visual Basic coding?
I would normally not make much of a fuss over this, however I have told my forum users this exciting feature is coming in the next few days, so I wouldnt like to have to tell them the programmer can no longer do it for reasons unknown to myself.
If you would like to contact me on AIM my username is barrywien. Hope this can be sorted out without further delay.
RNX Mark 11-12-2003, 06:46 PM To my knowledge, barry, such a thing would be very hard to program in Visual Basic, and certainly would not be done for $15.
Besides which, if he refunds your payment saying he is unable to complete the task, exactly what are you intent on achieving by continually resending the payment? You're lucky he hasn't just run off with it and left you with nothing.
barrywien 11-12-2003, 06:51 PM We could have come up with another way of doing this yet he refunded me even after asking if I would like a refund which I had already refused.
Also this user answered a question saying this was possible with his product, which is why I bought it. I believe he will use a standard template for each toolbar he designs, so its not that hard to code it its even possible as he no longer believes it is.

We do not work in the VB source code itself, and can only enter the information permitted by the application.
This includes:
search url: (i.e. http://www.google.com/search?q=searchvariable)
When hidden variables are needed, this makes the search non-functioning.
In order to work around this, a new php script would need to be created, that parsed the hidden fields on it own, while accepting the query variable alone.
barrywien 11-12-2003, 07:26 PM Ok that is fine, I will create that, change the form link I sent you from search.php to search_go.php and I will create that page to link with vBulletin.
ANMMark 11-12-2003, 08:28 PM Everything has been done, and the zip file is on it's way.
barrywien 11-12-2003, 09:14 PM Thanks very much Mark. Its really nice, all my forum staff love it!
Ive done the PHP page, and intergrated it with the vBulletin template so it all looks natural, very nice indeed.
