as I understand it MUD is a RP text?

There are some graphical ones out there as well.

But MUDs are pretty fun for us Unix geeks. :)

RP is roleplaying, which most MUDs are.

Netback is by far my favorite, and was actually the original text-based MUD. There's a 3D version as well, that I believe uses OpenGL... tough install, but awesome nonetheless.

Adonthell was alright, but crashes like crazy on RH 9.x...
