welcome to the boards... :D
Nice Usenrame By the way.. :stickout

Maybe you can ask in the 'Related Offers and Requests' Forum.
Thats usually where people ask for webdesigners.

Theres also alot of good sources across the net for this.
Search Yahoo and Google you should get alot of answers.

www.htmlgoodies.com is the only ressource i know

webmonkey.com offers some tutorials.

a good site for some scripts that you can incorporate into your site is cgi-resources.com

Well I started my life with Joe Barta's page tutor- it was a real goddie; The basics will be just there.

Now I guess it is a paid site; (pagetutor.com as i remember) If you want the old tutorials before it went commercial pls drop me a mail.

For other things like Perl, PHP & ASP visit hotscripts.com; They have a good collection of tutorial sites;

But the real gem is this; www.trainingtools.com
Visit that you will find why!!!

I don't know how helpful my post will be, but it will be honest.

Basically, I started w/ a little HTML 4 years ago...forgot all about it. A year ago (or something like that) I picked up Frontpage and thought I was creating awsome sites w/ FP Templates!! (luckily i didn't pretend I could design and get clients!!) Then, I saw that light and got rid of FP and got Adobe GoLive. I played with it a little, very stumped, until I found the Yale Web Style Guide (if anyone knows the url...) and read <creative html design 2.0> which, while basic, let me understand stuff I just couldn't get.

From then one I've just been building pages...looking at other's source code to see what they did...ocassionally going to a tutorial (I'm not good w/ those)...and just asking people questions.

That is basically how I came to where I am today. I know I have a ways (long, long ways) to go...but I know I'll get what I need in time (unless anyone knows of a good college in the us....) but just picking it up.

Designing is something that comes from you.
If you want to learn how to do stuff using HTML or using other programs google.com is definetly the best resource.

I recommend buying a few books on it, but you should mainly try hands on stuff....

webmonkey.com is a great site to get you started.

I also started this way (and from Angelfire's page builder, which I'm sure has since changed, but who knows). If you want to find Joe Barta's page tutor (past version is freeware), go to Altavista.com and search for 'webtutor.exe' and you'll find it. Covers all the basics and is a great quick reference if you forget a tag here and there.

I am also interested in learning to write HTML code. Just got a new book on HTML4 and am looking forward to trying it out. Can anyone recommend a good text editor for the Mac? I've heard good things about BBEdit and wonder if people like it or prefer some other Mac text editor? Ive worked wih Pagemill 3 but now rather write my own HTML code.
Thanks

Yeah-dont use any fancy HTML wizards when you start; it really kills your sense. Thats what I have to say
