View Full Version : clientexec, modern bills, whoiscart?
dicehost.com 11-04-2003, 08:51 PM Hi,
I was wondering if someone have any experiences, with the NEW releaes of all this three product. clientexec, modern bills, whoiscart, or WHMautopilo. What I'm looking for is this. I wanted to know if any of this does this. beside basic domain name registration and webhosting packages.
I was wondering if it can add like Dedicated Server, Co-location server & Game Servers. Anyone know if this feature can be easy added to one of this? Or is there one that already have the build in function of this.
Please let me know if you got any experiences with this..
Thanks
All three can "technically" do this, although some mods may be necessary depending on what you are wanting to do. Of the three, I would rate them in order of ModernBill as the top choice, then ClientExec, then WHMAutopilot. Modernbill just has more functionality, especially invoicing which the other two are slated to get, if they have not already.
Global 11-05-2003, 12:07 AM Well in my book I would rate them as;
#1 - whoiscart, the most complete all around program ($35.00)
#2 - clientexec, very nice, but it lacks some useful features ($99.00)
#3 - modernbill, ($179.95)
#4 - whmautopilot ($149.95)
These are my views;
I checked out clientexec, very nice and the price is compatible especially with their 25% off refugee price, but it was lacking some features I needed.
modernbill I think is overkill, hard to contact support and now with their price hike, I think they are over priced.
whmautopilot, I sent them three e-mails with some questions about their program they never replied.
I purchased whoiscart, set up was a breeze, it is full of great features, and support is second to none.
HTH. My 2c worth, George :)
dicehost.com 11-05-2003, 01:45 AM Hi,
I'm using whoiscart also, Its as simple as it can be.. But i was wondering if you can do the dedicated servers and game servers addon on whoiscart? I was wondering if that option is build in or not?
Let me know thanks
this is awsome..
insanecanuck 11-05-2003, 02:16 AM I feel stupid posting this, but can anyone link me to the whoiscart website?
2Guns 11-05-2003, 02:30 AM www.Google.com :)
www.whoiscart.net
Argious 11-05-2003, 02:46 AM I would recommend going with clientexec or whmautopilot, simply because those are the most efficient and most adapted for web hosting IMHO.
Modernbill really is just too cluttered. Sure it's powerful, but having to do multiple clicks just to get to your destination isn't a plus at all.
whoiscart -- I've never really used this, but after going through the specs, features, screenshots, and the demos, I really don't like this one. There is the fact that the design isn't clean cut/professional looking, and that I think it lacks the needed features of a hosting business. It only offers the simple/basic features of hosting and domain packages. But doesn't offer any support integration. Nor are any of these features really extensive. You get what you pay for I suppose.
WHMautopilot is pretty nice. I've played around with the latest version of it and it's pretty good. It can definitely setup dedicated server features, if you wanted that. Actually, like mentioned before, all of them can. -- not sure about whoiscart though. WHMautopilot creates your hosting accounts automatically as it integrates with CPanel/WHM. pretty nifty :)
Clientexec is just IMO simplistic, clean cut, and everything you need for your any starting hosting business. For me, this is what I'm using because it was just what I needed.
happy choosing!
dicehost.com 11-05-2003, 05:54 AM Damn,
this is a tough questions,, but it came down with two clientexec and WHMAP.
Questions..
I'm looking for the following thing, if this can do it or not..
1. Register domain name and Webhosting (enom)
2. Intergrated with CPANEL.
3. Support Ticket
4. Intergrated Custom Form to do Dedicated Servers
5. Billings
Please let me know which one can do all of this. AS I"M SOLD if anyone can do this..
Thanks
Your wanting to use it for dedicated servers correct? If so, I would not use whoiscart as it was just not designed for that use.
Of all the programs, ModernBill, in my opinion, would be best for dedicated servers. ClientExec does not have add-on functionality which would be a requirement if you sell dedicated servers.
Saeven 11-05-2003, 01:02 PM What kind of features are vital to you for dedicated server sales?
dicehost.com 11-06-2003, 01:24 AM can someone answear my questions above please. I really need to do so i can get the right product...
thanks
I already did, but it wasn't one of the two you listed as they will not provide everything you are wanting to do.
All three panels have a support desk integrated with them.
If you are dead set on those two, I would choose ClientExec over WHMAutopilot as it offers a better user interface and allows for a wider range of product offerings. The drawback is that it does not offer comprehensive invoicing. It does have an invoice system but it is basic at best. The other drawback is CE does not have an option for Add-on's, which I would say is a requirement if you are selling dedicated servers.
With WHMAutoPilot, you would have the add-on support but the user interface is not the best and you can only use it for cPanel. If you decided to use any other panels, you would have to use an alternate program for them. Last I checked invoicing was not yet available, but was to be released soon, but that may have changed by now.
ModernBill would allow for add-ons, multiple panel support, comprehensive invoicing and streamlined user interface. It is the best, in my opinion, for what you are wanting to do.
dicehost.com 11-06-2003, 05:34 PM thx.
Matt.
I got the ideas..
But modernbill is just too high..
What to do what to do??
Right now I got whoiscart. and its excellent. but its lack of a addon to serve dedicated server..
damn.. what to do..
If you are happy with whoiscart, you may want to drop Saeven a message to see if this is something they would consider adding as he asked earlier in the thread what features would be requested in a dedicated module. No reason to switch if you are happy with the current program and they are actively working on a solution.
Also, you could always start ModernBill with the lease option, I believe it is currently $24.95/month then upgrade to an owned license once you have a client base.
dicehost.com 11-06-2003, 06:41 PM Thanks matt,
Yeah.. How does the MB upgrade work. so i lease it for 24.95/month then upgrade it to the 250max client for 179.95?
is that how it work?
dicehost.com 11-06-2003, 06:48 PM I found this in the MB site. they are comingout with 4.1? is this a good thing?? and how long will it be release??
I also saw a enom for $7.95 and $100 deposit. Where can i sign up for that?
When ModernBill Version 4.0 was released, it was the first billing system to have integrated domain registration. With the release of version 4.1 we have again raised the bar by including integrated domain management. Both operators and customers can optionally be given the ability to manage their domains. The first module that will have this high level of integration will be our Enom module. If you do not currently have a domain registrar, you can receive a free Enom reseller account with domains from $7.95, no setup fee, and only a $100 reserve when you are ready to start registering domains.
To get the enom account from them, you have to be using the software. You are able to sign up through the "members area" after you buy a license.
The upgrades are certainly a good thing and have been in the works for awhile.
dicehost.com 11-06-2003, 09:49 PM Should I go ahead and wait for the NEW release. or get the $25/month and see how it work first. Anyone know when is the release date on MB?
VH-Robert 11-06-2003, 10:34 PM Uhh the new release is out. 4.1.1. Build 6.
Been out for a week
dicehost.com 11-06-2003, 10:46 PM its beeen out?
Why does it on the website it says.. coming out soon. like 1-2 weeks.??
hycloud 11-07-2003, 11:06 AM Believe it or not, version 4.1.1 is faster than version 4.0.2, even though version 4.1.1 has bunch new features.
