View Full Version : Best Quality/Price Registrar in general?
ScarabWeb 11-04-2003, 04:33 PM | What are your experiences with domain registrars in general? Can you recommend one or more which are really good, as well as pricing as quality is concerned? |
Sticks 11-04-2003, 04:42 PM RackShack - Search the forums for comments
NameCheap - What I use and I'm happy with them
And others :
Enom

obviousl 11-04-2003, 05:42 PM | Ev1Servers - Great for cheap domains - no frills. (AKA Rackshack)
Enom - If you have a reseller account this is a great registrar.
NameCheap - Excellent control panel, they are a reseller of enom.
And that's about it. :)

Not today they aren't, they are having major problems with their redirector and I just had to hold for ages on the phone just to get through and even then all I got was "we will let our techniocians now". |
dmaven 11-04-2003, 05:50 PM RegisterFly - excellent domain manager, loads of free tools and services
directnic - expensive compared to others. Very stable and reliable
enom - great for resellers |

I tried to transfer a domain out before it expired(10days)
approved the transfer from the link they sent to my email and it stated "Domain in transfer sequence" but come to find out its not and they denied that we approved of it.
So now it has to be renewed at directNIC ..  |
John[H4Y] 11-05-2003, 01:34 AM We are a fan of OpenSRS/tucows. They only cater to resellers, but their system is very well maintained and never any problems.
We've heard many compliments about Enom. We were thinking about looking into their reseller API. |

I provided plenty of links to registerfly's massive problems here. Please DO NOT use them.
OpenSRS/Tucows is a good registrar, but you have to make a large deposit I believe. So if you are not planning to buy a lot, you may want to consider some cheap options. |
kohashi 11-05-2003, 01:49 AM Toeki, some registrars ask for 2 weeks I think, did you read their terms for how long before expiration you can transfer? |
Knogle 11-05-2003, 04:22 AM Bear in mind that some of the registrars suggested are not ICANN accredited. . . |
kohashi 11-05-2003, 07:17 AM and one has a registrar but uses enom. go figure.
NameCheap is a reseller
RegisterFly resells for enom but is owned by the registrar UnifiedNames....
EV1 is a tucows reseller.
the rest are icann accredited I think, unlss I missed one... |
