Due to windows "updating" for the better. I have had to reinstall so ive lost all my icq contacts so those of you on my list please msg me on it so i can read u.

Next time before you format your harddrive, copy the "2000B" directory that is in the ICQ directory to a safe place. Then after you reinstall and set up your existing account, shut down ICQ, copy the "2000B" folder back under the ICQ directory and use the "ICQ Database Converter" (found in the start menu, under ICQ) to import your users, messages and settings. Now start your ICQ and it should be just like it was before the format.

thats what i usually do - although this time my computer was just getting BSOD each time i loaded up win2k.. got to the login screen then crashed.
Bloody thing.

Seems to be alright for now though - thanks for the tip but i didnt really have the option to do it (backup)
