Hello all,

As always, I'm the guy with the most questions... I've found nothing in my searches for these questions, so please excuse me for asking some dumb questions!

Well, let's begin with CMSs...

I run a relatively large gaming site with roughly 1.5-2 million pages per month and about 100k+ unique visitors... unfortunately for me, the whole site is handcoded! I'm attempting to switch to a CMS, but need to find the right one for me... the site is content-based as well as forum-driven... a very strong balance between the two.

What I'd like to do: Have many articles and sections for articles, where users can read, comment, rate, and discuss them as well (in the forum)... Users can submit articles as well, which are then approved / edited by a designed membergroup... or similarly, a group of authors will have the ability to write articles, whereas the Editor group gets to approve and publish them...

Everything else, is a bonus... =)... of course, compatibility with Menalto's Gallery and YaBBSE / SMF is a HUGE bonus...

Now onto the YaBBSE question... I'm a big YaBBSE user and have been with them for the longest time... I've over 17,000 members and way too many messages for me to consider switching to another board... I'm also a Chartered Member for SimpleMachines (www.simplemachines.org) - which is looking amazing!

The related question I have is, is there a CMS out there that can integrate the user system of a FORUM into itself and use that as it's MAIN member system? I'm not a programmer, so I don't know if I'm asking for the world here ... but is there something out there that can do this? If not, is there anything out there that IS compatible with YaBBSE atm?

Hivemail - great looking software... I figured I'd open that up on my site to create return traffic... but with a P4 1.6 and 512 RAM / 60Gig HDD - will that be too much for me?

vBulletin - the most compatible board available - Hivemail and CMS compatible... but is it worth it?

Ideally, if I were to open up a brand new site and had to rebuild mine, the logical step seems to be going with Hivemail + vBulletin + PHP-Nuke / Typo3 ... but since I'm loyal to the guys at YaBBSE / SMF (great community), what would you suggest I do?

Yup, that was a mouthful... and a lot of questions

Thanks for reading through this, and as always, I appreciate any assistance.

Cheers

i would be interested in hearing some replies, we have a vbulletin forum but really lacking a solid complete CMS. tried phpporals and a couple other VB.org hacks but nothing is really complete or a full solution.
