Was stuck in traffic the other day and saw someone advertising their website on their back window.

Thought about having a magnetic sign made and slap it on the tailgate of my truck.

Any opinions on mobile billboards?

Way back in the dotcom bubble, there was a company that would provide you with a car up to 35,000$ for 50% off if you signed an agreement for 5 years, you would put magnetic signs on it that the main company would send you. Pretty interesting, eh? Guess what? It never launched :)

As if cellphone use when driving weren't bad enough, now you want to promote people visiting your site using a wireless system too? j/k

I really think people should concentrate on the road more though. Also, think about what happens if you seriously tick someone off and your advertising the site on your car? Somewhat like this weekend when "American Air" kept honking his horn which aggrivated the person I was with driving which could have ended up badly. We really couldn't safely go, after which the guy flipped us off at the next light. His business name & phone numbers on the side. Boy am I going to have fun with those.

Anyway, just be careful how you advertise. With cars, there's a better chance of someone seeing the bad road rage side. ;)

I saw Chrystler Prowler painted in yellow with 'Lipton ICE TEA' ads all over it.

*Still wonders if the person received this car for free*

There is a service that will "wrap" your car in a plastic ad sheet and you get paid big bucks (advertising someone else that is). But[/]b you must qualify for the ad and they have [b]very strict requirements. It isn't all that great.

As for magnets, they're OK but you run the risk of your vehicle being considered a "commercial verhicle". If you get into an accident your insurance may not cover you if they deem you to be using a pleasure car for business.

It must be effective if so many companies are doing it. There is an adult pay site that has drawings and gives away these awsome cars to adult webmasters about every 6 months. They gave away a new Vette and a Viper awhile ago and the last time I looked they were giving away a new Hummer.

The terms are something like leaving there decals on the car for a year or two - so not only would you be advertising, you would have a big ol porn site address plastered across the side of your new ride... :D I would hate to see the reaction on the street.

You might, But myself I would love to watch what happens, I'd have the cops knocking on my door within 1 hour. Plus it would drive my wife nuts for a week.
