Hello all,

I'm currently with alabanza and I'm thinking of moving out of it.
I'm thinking of BurstNet. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Try to search the forums.

And you have what first-hand experience/knowledge of our company?
Don't you think it is improper to make such negative comments about your competitors?
...considering the fact that you have never been a client/customer of BurstNET!

I have to agree with Sean R here, you attacked his company with no proof what so over.

*coughs* Well, Iceman, I'd do that search. Some Burst clients are happy. Some are not. Reading what others have experienced may help you decide whether Burst is the company for you.

Please note I have no experience with or opinion of BurstNet's service; I'm simply suggesting search terms to a new forum member. The above is a search for "burst burstnet support".

It is always good to search the forums for info on a host. None or little is better then lots and bad however.

Is it just me or has "Palm" done nothing but get involved with stuff that doesn't concern him. Anyone see that post about Jbiz rebooting the server and someone posting downtime??? Welp palm had somthing negitive to say about that to. Why don't you stay out of stuff that doesn't concern you "Palm" ? Good rule of thumb. I mean come on <EDIT> to post somthing negitive about a company you have never done buisness with.

<<MOD NOTE:>>
Yes well, I think that's been covered and this conversation would only take the thread off topic further.

Well,
I am moving (very slowly I might add) to cpanel servers from Alabanza. I have 1 Cpanel server at Burst and 3 Cpanel servers at other NOC's (2 with licenses from BurstNET)
Burst has so far offered good speed and as of yet I haven't had a problem at all with my server there (about 3 months old).
The single connection to Sprint makes me a little nervous if it were to ever go down, but they are going to get a 2nd connection to AT&T soon according to their web site.

I have used support about a dozen times from memory, and I will say that sometimes support can take a few hours, other times days... It really depends on the issue at hand. I am sure once they get their support up and running at the NOC things may be more streamlined. I would have another server (or two) there, but they never answered one of my questions after several requests.

Regardless, look at some of the options out there, search the forums. The only issue client-wise I ever had was when 1 client found out I put them on a Burst server they got a little mad because of a previous problem they (or a friend) had with Burst.
Other than that...

Good Luck!

i am in the process of moving 2 servers from alabanza onto 3 servers with burst.net right now.

i do have plenty of experience with them (since jan.) .... here is my 2 cents:

1) prices are good!

2) uptime is good (since they left their old provider)

3) support is poor!

> AOL = if they are on, you 'might' get answered, or you just might get completely ignored

> Phone = not all that great. (but they are in the process of 'improving it')

> Email = fastest i have ever gotten is when brad s. was working there at 1 hour. normal seems to be about 24-36 hours. longest was about 4 days.

in summary: Burst is a solid choice as long as you can run 95%+ of everything yourself. once you need them, you may have to be in a little trouble. BUT--> you have been using alabanza, and they are FAR FAR FAR WORSE on support. (again, just my experience)

We have servers with Alabanza and Burst.net. We have been very happy with Burst and their support.

Just my two cents worth.

The AT&T DS3 is already installed actually...
We are running redundant DS3 lines already...using BGP routing...

We have nothing but good things to say about BurstNET. Their support is top notch and to top it all of, this is the type of company that doesNot nickel and dime you.

I'd say, go with BurstNET.

are you working for BurstNet?

In your profile, you listed Burst as your "www" or "homepage"...

I really need suggestions from non-Burst employee or that sort of thing...

it stated on Burst's site that they offer 24/7 phone support. But when I call them .. 2 days.. could not reach them..

<< But when I call them .. 2 days.. could not reach them.. >>

From the start of your post, thru the current date....has been the timeframe BurstNET has been moving our sales/support office from Bloomsburg PA to Scranton PA (same building as our NOC). This means moving the phones system, staff, equipment, etc..... (we had some problems with phone hookups/toll-free service due to Verizon & AT&T both). Our phone support is almost back to normal, but we are a little short on weekends and early early mornings...because there are a few staff members that are still relocating to Scranton from Bloomsburg over the next 7-14 days. Once they get there, you'll see a huge improvement in call completeion rates for phone support, which was the largest factor to push us towards this move in the first place.

I have to say for me Busrt has been great for us.. We don't have servers there but we use there CPanel and supports all ways good.. They have been way better then V*I every was they can at least fix things... hehe

The one thing i do like about burst is they know there is a problem and are trying to fix it.. A lot of co. will not say when there is a problem like this.. At least burst is open about it and lets us know they are trying to fix it.. I find this very good.. ;)
