hey everyone - i am currently using mailenable standard and will probably upgrade to mailenable pro soon but before i do i was wondering if anyone knew of a better windows based mail program (other than exchange).

sorry for all my posts recently... i just found this message board in the past couple weeks and it has so much great info. i have done many searches and found tons of info but the things i am posting about are topics that i have not found from searching.

anyway, any ideas on a mail server?

I have found MailEnable Pro to be the best fit for us.

We like Merak. It works well with our Control Panel.

cool thanks for the opinion... i am kinda leaning towards that too but i just want to make sure there is nothing else out there that i missed before i pull the trigger with ME Pro.

i like Imail Server because it allows you to store users in MS SQL.

Mdaemon by alt-n (http://altn.com)

I have been using this mail server for nearly a year now and it can do anything and everything. Definitly worth the money.

iMail is the best but it's also ridiculously expensive. Mailenable is nearly there but a bit rough around the edges (especially webmail) but costs 1/10th as much.

We stick with iMail as we've been using it for years and customers are used to it but if I was starting again I'd go with Mailenable no problem.
