Greets all,

I don't know if anyone posted Windows XP screen shots or not, but here are a few for you to view..

Screen Shot #1 (http://www.antinetscape.org/winxp/screen01.jpg)
This one is a screenshot of the desktop and open start menu. To list your installed programs, you will have to click on "All Programs" at bottom left. Above that is the last programs you've ran (I think)..

Screen Shot #2 (http://www.antinetscape.org/winxp/screen02.jpg)
This is a screenshot of the Control Panel. As you already have noticed, WindowsXP is a lot more graphical (lots of animations too).

Screen Shot #3 (http://www.antinetscape.org/winxp/screen03.jpg)
And offcourse, you can run it as "Classic mode" and get the interface that you're used to.

Glad to see they are designing for 12 year old girls :)

Well, overall I liked it. Everything was smoothed out a bit, more like a web page taking up the whole screen. I don't think you wouldn't like it really. I thought it was actually pretty nice (but that's just me, heh), though I did switch to 'classic view' for the control panel (see shot #2), as I didn't care for the big control panel icon catagories.

XP did not go gold until a few days ago. You couldn't have gotten it 2 months ago. Only RC2 was released in the last month :)

And Mr. Amazon, how did you get your hands on a copy of XP since it's really not supposed to be out for awhile huh? It doesn't look like a RC either :)

Are you accusing me for using ilegal software (warez) ?

Not that I need to defend myself, but I'm actually using Windows 2000 myself. I'm using my desktop as a webserver from time to time and don't really want to use a not yet stable OS. Those screenshots were sent to me by a friend and I thought I share them with you.

These screen shots are nothing new to people.
You can find them online everywhere.

it would be interesting to see how many people instantly switch the desktop to the "classic" version as soon as they get the OS.

I think there shoulw be an option during setup:

1) would you like to waste 3/4 of your screen with completely useless HUGE icons, if so please tick here: [ ]

2) would you like the classic version we have spent 5 years developing and making perfect integrating every feature people have asked for over the years to make it simple and easy to use, if so please tick here [ ]

I've tried xp here at work and I didn't like the GUI too much. Maybe the guy who owned the computer with XP was a 266Mhz :(

I've seen a lot of these screen shots floating around. It looks like a handicapped version of Win2k with a skinpack option. I'll pass on this one, the resources used with all that eye candy is a waste.
