Does anyone have any interest in seeing a tutorial in moving away from the Raq's custom kernel etc onto a generic 2.4 tree distribution? I'm currently working on it at work with a fair bit of success, but I need to check whether there's any interest before I write a tutorial.
So, post here if you'd like to see a step by step on this.

Ditto: Gentoo

A little later....
Actually, thinking about this I'd be very interested in a tutorial on how to go about porting a system on to a RaQ.
A sort of generic but comprehensive version of:
http://www.traumatized.org/linux/cobalt/index.php
would be great.

Right, well i've made a lot more process in figuring out partitioning systems etc, i'm going to put together a system using the pre-built 2.4.19 kernel and see if it boots, if it does i'm going to work on making the cobalt modules portable so we can run gentoo but still have userspace LCD tools, the processor in these boxes is lacking at 400-450mhz, but they can fit in a lot more ram (2 simm slots, I assume a gig or so max) and if they can boot a late 2.4x kernel (and possibly a 2.6) without choking, they could become a profitable purchase, they are only 1u after all, and have a nice setup with the display.
