What do you do when you suspect an order is fraud? Do you just toss the order or reply stating the charge is declined due to suspected fraud?
Here why I believe it's fraud:
1. First name given only for account information
2. Free email address
3. Whois on domain doesn't match account information such as address, name, or country of origin.
My first order and I think it's fraud. Damn Damn Damn :bawling:
:stickout:

IP trace. Place a phone call.
Firstly, check the IP that they signed up with, and cross reference it with the billing location.
If it does indeed seem like they are vastly different, then try the phone number they listed to sign up with, and if you have any doubts when you speak to them,. tell them that for their own protection, you have an advanced fraud screening process in place, and you'll need a copy of their CC sent via fax.
The most common answer to this, from both fraudsters and legitimate customers, is that they do not have access to a fax machine.. Ask them if they have a scanner, if they do, then point them to www.efax.com and they can get a free fax account, enabling them to send the ID right over to you

I found another problem:
Country = London :emlaugh:
I'm just going to ignore this order and not even reply.

Actually the free efax account only enables you to receive faxes,in order to send them you have to sign up which i doubt anyone will do for one-time use. But most likely they can go to any corner gas station and they will most likely have a fax machine.

They don't have the "30 days free" anymore?

Funny you should mention eFax since I just received a notice from them the free service will be discontinued:
Thank you for choosing eFax(R) . We are proud to deliver millions
of faxes for millions of customers every day. As you may know, we
offer our customers two types of service, eFax Free(TM)and eFax
Plus(TM).
At this time, we will no longer be able to offer you the eFax
Free service on: x-xxx-xxx-xxxx. To keep your number and account active, you must upgrade your account to eFax Plus. If you do not upgrade within 5 days, your account will be closed and your eFax number will be reassigned to another user.

Like Simon mentioned... have the customer fax you a copy of their CC statement to "prove" possession of their credit card.
Tell them that they can white out anything that they want on the balance or list of charges part... but your "risk department" at the bank has requested that you get this since a few things don't match up on the order.
If they take too long to respond or refuse to provide that, void it (or credit return it) and pass on the sale.
It is much better to pass on a sale if something doesn't feel or seem right then to take it and risk a chargeback.
