Can you confirm if you need just managed services as an admin for your servers OR a dedicated solution which is managed from the same provider?

:homer: because he replied back quoting my words from the earlier post where I asked him a question.
I am not ignorant like some.

Greetings:

The areas to be careful when picking some one to provide server management:

1. If you need monitoring, how good is the monitoring system?

2. Are you getting exactly what you are paying for? i.e. if you are paying too little, are you getting too little?

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160080 is a thread that deals with #1 and #2.

3. Does the provider offer any form of customer oriented service level agreements that make them completely responsible to A) install only the necessary security patches within a specific time frame after they are released, and B) ensure they don't break your system because of a bad patch (without concern over why the patch is bad)?

4. I'm also not sure if it matters who long the provider has been in business, whether they have multiple employees so you are not dependent on one person, and if they can grow with you as your needs change.

Thank you.

If you're looking for a good server admin, I can recommend MotleyFool (aka Balaji) of http://www.bsdinn.com/ I've known him a long time and he's been around these boards for years...

Good Luck!

Let me say that http://www.ncmanage.com is the best I have ever used
myself, and you can not go wrong with them.

They are there with end mins to support your need, and have
fixed any problem we ever had, large or small. I'd give them
a try before using someone else, there prices are low cost
compared to some who are much higher cost for same offerings.
