I am loking for a good and cheap dedicated server or dedicated disk. We do not need complicated things and it scould be simple to use.
So, I saw some hosting service that offers a lot of good features and particualary the hoster in question. anybody know service of imperum.com?

Thank you
P.P

ot to put a company down but their prices are like 5x higher that their competitors and Ive never even heard of them. Check out catalog.com, raqspace.com, and of course us cheapservers.net

Not to put a company down but... :p
Just look around, ask customers hosted at the company you wish to go, test their customer answer speed, ask technical detaisl to test their competency, etc

frankly, he was not asking for pub, he was asking for opinion on the named host.

I am not targetting you cbaker, but go read
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=2030

I know you _are_ shocked... to the point that in all your messages you noted to look at you.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but did you see the "no advertising" statement?

I dont want to get into a big thread complaining to each other and no hard feelings felix. But in every one of my posts I recommend my competitors!!!!! I dont think anyone has a problem with me asking at the end that they check me out, asking them to check me out is not a ad, any again I will talk about how good my competitors are first. So please dont put me into the spam category!

it was not a spam category... it was an advertising one, exactly as I stated in the message.

I have no hard feeling about anyone, but I do appreciate people that help each other WITHOUT thinking business.

And I don't think I'm the only one thinking that way anyway :)

Why pick on cbaker17? reading through his posts he does actually recommend other providers so what is exactly the problem with him but this advert? If you have a problem with adverts floating abouts why not send an email to the webmaster of this forum? Isn't that more sensible to do? Félix, You said it yourself in that thread "isn't this forum about helping people"? But replying three times to tell cbaker17 to shut up don't benefit either.

And in regards to imperum.com they won't go very far with that kind of price and service. pando: there are better services elsewhere.

hmm.. could be they have higher prices but you dont pay for IP adressere ad they have a web control panel with a lot of features they have also a Webmail for all domains I never saw elswhere.. and you can give this also to you customers..On cheapservers.net I scould pay $2 per IP adress and i dont finde faqs for his service. So I dont' know if I can give a web panel to my customers with all this features.
Where can I finde all this feature for lower price?

The prices on the following co.s are the best:
DedicatedHosting.com
*****.com
Rackspace

Call to know more about their service, be careful of the new companies

FYI

Host Guy you are right do be careful of new companys. I dont think you were addressing us but in case you were, we have been in business for 7 years and our a member of the bbb as well as chamber of commerce. In addition our prices are cheaper than all three of the companys you listed.

We would be happy to match any service of course. In addition we do not have published faq's for dedicated servers because we send out a huge manual for customers. Who knows someday we will convert it to .pdf format :)

I looked at your site, cheapservers.net and it look very unprofessional! I looks like someone just threw something up in a day. You have been around 7 years? Why hasn;t anyone taken the time to create a nice look site. That is always my first impression of a place. You may have $99 server but what are the specs, I can;t find a link on your site they says what type of "server" you offer forr $99. The first impression has been made!

Hostguy's suggestion is good. But add Catalog.com to the list too, they include Plesk free of charge. dialtoneinternet.com is a favour of many but different people have different needs. Make sure you ask them in advance remember, it's free and will not cost you anything to do some resource.

Actually stat man you not really one to be talking as your site doesnt look any better. #2 we arent in the design business but the colocation business. #3 this is a temporary site while another one is being designed. You can look at our business Hosting divisions site at http://www.eazyaccess.com to see the quality of design we produce. Dont critisize someones site when you dont have a better site to back it up and when you dont even know the situation, in addition ive had no negative comments about it from anyone but you. But I will be the first to admit that its def. not a finished site.

Jeez everyone is so hostile around here. Grow up!

Yes, my site http://www.fantasystats.com might not look too much better, but I currently have about 250 users. These user are friends or friends of friends. I don't try to make money, I am not offering my services to anyone and I sure don't advertise in a "No Advertising" forum. So until I come here telling people to "Check me out" Shut up about my site! :-)
I could get into a huge message about how looking at my front page, tells you absolutly nothing about my site. And I know you didn't go any further cause I log all traffic on my site. I could go on, about how this is a fully functional Fantasy Football League manager, not available for others as we are BETA testing this season (so I am not advertising)!
But I will say is that you guys just need to spend a little more time the next 7 years around to make their site look a little better, as to avoid the bad first impression I got!
My first impression was bad; bad design, not enough info. But my second impression, based on the a$$40&# people he employees is out and out disgust!

Everyone else...

http://www.*****.com has good deals and is a reputable Co. I think they learned alot from the not Y2K issue.
http://www.Communitech.net again is has good deals is a reputible CO. and has an awesome user forum, those poeple there are smart!
http://www.Catalog.com really helps out and answer what their users need. They just revamped some of their deals becsuse user's asked.
http://www.DellHost.com spend about $50 or more for the same deal as these three above, but they tech support is amazing, use great machines and a big thumbs up!
]

good luck all who are looking, it is a dog eat dog world!

I will absolutely beg to differ on your first two suggestions, Stat.

***** is currently facing a lawsuit from irate customers for breach of contract. If you do a search in the forums, you'll find plenty about it.

Communitech has been derided by many users for its policy towards high bandwidth usage. There was a recent CNet article describing the practice, with many, many Communitech users flooding their boards to complain of their policies. I'll try and dig it up if I can or do a search on this forum or CNet and you should find it.

Catalog and DellHost, however, are very fine hosts.

Do NOT go with *****. ***** is the worst company that I have ever been with. Our company is in the process of litigation with ***** for breech of contract (multiple breeches in fact). They even wiped out our entire server and took us down for about 1 week. I would go with some of the larger hosts like dedicatedserver.com or dellhost.com
Dell uses there own servers, naturally, and I can tell you firsthand from being in the IT industry that Dell has some of the best servers out there in terms of speed and reliability.

cbaker17, he is not the one selling a service, you are the one doing it. So your site will come into question! And remember its the first impression that lasts the longest!

Plus his website design is good.

Thanks for your kind words kunal. I am currently trying to get input about what design flaws I currently experience, but every now and then it is nice just to hear the "his site is good" compliment. My favorite aspect about the site is that every registed user can decide their own color scheme based on the 31 NFL teams and that color scheme will be the colors they see the site in.

thanks again kunal.
