I am trying to figure out this whole nameserver thing. I want to create ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com. I have my domain registered at GoDaddy.com. How would I go about creating the two nameservers (both with GoDaddy.com and using WHM)?

You must first login to Godaddy.com. They would have a function for you to register your nameservers. In order to do so, you must use 2 different ips.

Once that is done, you would have to wait a couple of days for it to be registered and propagated.

You would then setup the DNS zones in WHM. That's pretty much it. If you need more details on any specific parts, just ask

I am getting this error when I try to delete a current nameserver that is assigned to one of the IPs.

Sorry, the nameserver ip ***.***.***.***cannot be removing since it is still registered with an ICANN register.

(***.***.***.*** has been replaced)

What does this mean and how can I fix this? It won't let me assign anything to ns1.thedomain.com and I really need to.
