I am considered a fresh entrant into webhosting and would like to start with a reseller provider who can help me learn the ropes gradually. I would need guidance and I would need someone with patience to teach and coach me along through a hands-on approach.

I am also not willing to spend huge bucks because I am not going into this to make any money at this time. I have narrowed down the many positive reviews down to the following 3 hosts:

CitadelHost
CredibleHost
ThrillHost

Please share your experiences and your thoughts. Thank you.

I think mosts hosts will help you out as much as they can, but keep in mind that I doubt you'll find anyone to do everything and teach you everything. I'll offer some advice that should help you. Play with the control panel to get the hang of how to add an account and so on. This is probably the best and easiest way to learn.

As for a host that will help you from that list, have you emailed them and asked them? That's the best way to really find out.

One last thing, just make sure that you're ready to be a reseller and don't just bail out. Things may be a little slow at first, or they may not. ;)

I agree with the above poster--email the prospective host and ask how would I do xyz? If they can give an answer which you can understand or take the time out to help in you in pre-sales inquiries chances are they will take extra time later when you are a client.

Hi :D
Welcome to hosting , my thoughts on this are to go and look at the forums of the host look at their support area written tutorials flash tutorials FAQ does their site make sense to you , any host can be nice in an email but how are they consistently on their forum

I would add

http://www.bluewho.com
http://www.kualo.com

to the list , they are a little more price wise than the hosts you listed but its that extra price that pays for the support your looking for

Good Luck :D

av1998 send each host a list of questions. Ask how support is handled and how the maintain commuication during downtime. Also add a few of my favorite questions, "why should I choose your company?" and " what are the furute plans for your company?".

Also if the host has thier own forum, go and look through the post to get an idea of how the host is ran.

Also, not sure if I came off making this point or not, it wouldn't hurt to ask the host up front if they will help a "newbie" out.

i'm currently at thrillhost and have to say i am truly pleased with them. they offer one of the lowest prices on their reseller packages, offer very fast response times from their support desk, and their server performance is very good (great uptime, low server loads, low response times).

they use whm/cpanel, which is very self-explanatory and straight forward. but their support section also offers flash tutorials that show you how to navigate through the control panels and do whatever you want. and i'm sure their suport will answer whatever questions you have, as they have been very friendly and helpful to me in the past.

and they offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so you really have nothing to lose by giving them a try.

The absolute BEST source for reseller info, IMHO, are the archives of these forums. Use the search tool to search for the hosts name and see what previous clients have had to say.

If you can, find their alias/nick on here and see what their posts are like. Are they knowledgeable, courteous, etc?

You'll get a lot of good info from Reseller-Center. There's a good forum there, plus tons of documentation. FAST support as well. Do a search on them here at WHT, and you'll see what I mean about these guys being excellent and reasonable, i.e. $25/month to start out.....................z
