It looks good, but you have to agree that WindowsXP looks more like some kind of Disney toy than an operating system. :D

I'd hope not. That Atlantis game that came in the cereal boxes was *censored*. Vile stuff... It has the pricetag of a disney toy from their giftshop though. :)

I can see Bill Mouse showing Windows Duck to all the dwarves while the Penguins attack them and extinct windows forever replacing it with an Apache :dgrin:

Erm..

Why would Apache replace Windows :)

Shouldn't it be Linux replacing Windows?

It was meant to be the dwarves being replaced with apaches (the indians!). But, errm, nevermind :)

Oh man, just set the desktop to windows classic and you are fine.

You better install Windows XP asap because you won't believe the stability. Really, you really won't believe untill you start using it. It is really better than windows 2000.

What, still using win98? Oh man, go upgrade then...

Too LINUX users;
Don't even go there! I was just compairing it to the other windows versions and it really is WAY better than any other windows product on the market.

I don't know. I think I will purchase windows 2000 or ME (currently using win 98 SE).

I wouldn't try newly released OS since no out-side software is gonna be supported for a while.
And generally, from what I have seen, newly released OS is very buggy.

You said you were thinking about Windows 2000 and WindowsME.
Win2K is a much better OS than WinME. :agree:
I bought a computer in January that came with WindowsME installed. It wasn't untill April that I finally gave up on it (the OS).
I have seen more blue screens running WinME than a body ever should.
I changed to Win2K Pro, and have never been bothered by the "Blue Screen of Death" since. ;)

In regards to windows,

ME sucks.. really it does.

Win2k is the best followed by 98 se.

Im going to wait on XP and see how things pan out.

WinXP probably really is a better OS than it's windows predecessors. However, I refuse take part in their "activation" system.

Instead, this new system was the catalyst needed to get me to finally give Linux a try. I still run WinME on one computer simply because I do web design & have to be able to view the sites I design in the Win/IE combination that 98% of my customers' end-users use. But, all development & design work now takes place in Linux.

Hmmm.... the debate seems to be going in an odd direction but.....

Win 95, 98 amd ME are all based on the same platform.

Win NT4, 2K and XP are all based on the NT kernel which is much more stable. You dont get the lockups and crashes on NT because of memory and processor Management. Having said this, the nt kernel is not very good for gaming, so if the system is straight developement, I would Use NT... (if you can run it)
Personally i have had 95 since the late 90's and wont upgrade til something amazing comes along........ (and dont tell me linux, I have 4 or 5 versions of it).

As for the desktop, most those shots are actually of the Option pack options.....

The firewall shots are of system stuff........ (just to clarify)

I am currently on a dual boot redhat 6.2 and Win98 SE.

For win 98 SE I got Uptime of: 8:02:57:28 last week. That is until I tried to open notepad.... (NO JOKE!) and it died.
