Man this will be big if they prevail. No more leaching with AdWords?

Looks like they have a case indeed.

I agree and if LV wins a lot of other companies will do the same.

A lot of other companies are already building their cases I hear, as well as a few have already sued and won. While Google is appealing the decisions it does look a bit grim for them. Looks like they're going to have to do some work on their ad system.

Wonder how this will affect their IPO plans this could be a big hit on earnings then again I guess they make most of their revenues for being the search engine for Yahoo and others right?

Hm... If they win -- and chances are, they will -- that'd mean they may have to take down AdWord system and start from scratch? Ouch... I hope this doesn't mean we'll all lose a source of profit...
This is mainly a concern in france and maybe other EU countries, trademark protection is different in the USA and so far no companies have gone this route with google in the USA.

Maybe Google will change AdWords to be similar to Overture, with the keyword approval process and all?

I'm not 100% sure on how Google Adwords work, but isn't the person who purchases fills out the keywords? If so I would figure they would be sued.
