It cost me nothing, it's going to be my birthday present from my parents :).
Overclocking, well, I'll look into that once it's all up and running, I don't know anything about overclocking so I'll have to do a lot of reading ;).

joshiee 10-25-2003, 04:05 PM Time to get in contact with parents!
linux-tech 10-25-2003, 04:10 PM Not bad, though I would have put a li'l more ram in there. Even 1g ddr any more can be not enough.
Nice setup though!!

1GB RAM is plenty unless you're doing a lot of gaming or video editing ;).

linux-tech 10-25-2003, 07:51 PM lol, I wondered why your first response didn't show up.
I guess I'm one of the few that think 1g is too small. Then again, I do an incredible amount of video editing.
Damn, I thought my replies didn't work. newreply.php kept hanging when I tried replying to this thread, I guess it actually worked...odd.
If you do video editing, XEON processors would be very good too...and around 2GB RAM.
linux-tech 10-25-2003, 08:11 PM Ya, that's what I've got in here right now, a Xeon 2.0 with 1g ddr (max 1.5, depending on the chipset). Then again, the All in Wonder card takes a lot when saving videos too (at least mine does).

Is that the ATI Radeon 9800 All-In-Wonder?
linux-tech 10-25-2003, 08:26 PM 7500 actuallly. A few models back, but it's still a very nice card.

I've seen the p4 with the 800mhz chip get overclocked on good air cooling to well above 3.4.
I have a p4 2.4 and I get mine OC'd to 3.1. Good luck. The asus boards are great for overclocking.

Indeed, I've been asking the pros at overclocking at overclockers.co.uk (hmm ;)) and they say that the config I have is great for OC'ing. Since it's a 2.8, I'll probably clock it to around 3.3, 3.4 maybe? :cartman:
