I just signed up the other day with google adwords and been having problems with them..
I have a few "select" words I want, not the average "webhosting",etc,, words for my ads..
Just now I got my SECOND warning that my ads havent made enough clickthroughs and once more it will cost me an additional $10. to reset them.????
Anyone else have problems with them? Dont you have a choice as far as what words you choose??
Thanks

dont waste your money the market is too sturated unless you can afford 3-5 dollars a click. Print is the best form of advertising or word of mouth. If you do print advertising make sure its targeted to a crowd that needs hosting like a local computer magazine.
I used to own a guranteed traffic website and i was with google adwords and 100s of dollars later no leads emails or anything.

Thanks!
It does seem like a scam to me so far.. I am very unimpressed with it.

I wouldn't call it a scam, it's just not a good marketing technique unless you have an untapped niche keyword or a lot of money :D

Google ad words is great, if you take time to learn how to use the technology. It takes time to learn what words will get the most responses from people at the cost you want. I depend on ad words for my business, but when I first started I had the same problem of not enough clicks… I stuck it out and finally hit on words that get action, and don’t cost an arm and a leg.
I will add that you should have a marketing plan that includes both online advertising, print, and try to create some type of “buzz” about your company. By buzz, I mean get people talking about your company/services! Almost like the ad by Apple “Hell Froze over” to intro the new music service for windows.
Get a marketing plan and toy with ad words and overture to get the most out of your dollar.

Without a doubt there's a bit of a learning curve. At least be sure that if you're getting that notice you're changing something in response. It might be as simple as dropping the keywords that are getting a low response rate, or fine-tuning by using negative keywords, etc.

Hmm.. what we have used has worked from the beginning. Guess you just have to find the right keywords. I didn't even know they required a click-through rate.
