Meanwhile u can try searching other suitable hosting companies at www.webhostdir.com or www.hostpulse.com or www.hostindex.com Collie. ;) SoftWareRevue 09-01-2001, 09:41 AM If you're interested in them; I see no need to wait. I have a site hosted by them ;) fury 09-01-2001, 10:59 AM urrr... I think he's asking if the new servers are ready or not. It takes time for the bugs to be worked out, and from what I read in the other thread, people have been having problems with their control panels. Also, stability and uptime are not proven yet. I would suggest waiting to hear whether the level of service is similar to the old servers. It is not good to jump into things right away without having done your research. Andy460 09-01-2001, 12:31 PM If the support is any indication of how the service will eventually be, I think Hostiva will be OK. Yes I've had problems since I signed up with them, but most of the problems haven't been Hostiva's fault. The old data center apparently doesn't keep a close eye on their servers at all, as they go down too frequently. Then, the recovery time is too long to get them back online. This is just sloppy on the part of the data center, and Hostiva took it upon themselves to move, stating that this level of service was unacceptable to them and to their customers. I can tolerate a lot if I know that the powers that be are doing their best to look out for my interests. It's when they don't seem to care, send snotty emails to you when you have a problem, or ignore you completely that I get mad at them. If you don't have to move immediately, I'd keep an eye on things and see how smoothly they run once they get the new servers running properly. Seems to me that Hostiva has a lot of potential to be a good host, once they get all the kinks worked out. Andy night walk8r 09-01-2001, 10:43 PM How long is it gonna take til the new servers r working good? SoftWareRevue 09-01-2001, 10:51 PM I have no problems with the new control Panel or servers, either one. But, you may want to wait for input from someone with a more resource intensive site than mine. |
