I am looking for software that can do a real loading time test (kb/s) for websites to compare hosts server effectiveness. I have Site Speed by Digital Detective, but this cannot handle some websites. Can you help me?

There is a site at http://www.alertsite.com/ that can compare your site's speed with others' sites. Of course there's Internet latency and geographical distances to account for, but it's a decent overall measurement.
