View Full Version : SiteBuilder
myablon 10-20-2003, 03:51 PM Hi
We are looking at offering sitebuilder technology to our existing and future customers. However, building one from the ground up is proving too cost and time prohibitive.
Is there any 3rd party Sitebuilder companies that you would recommend from (a) Customer ease of use standpoint (B) ease of backend Administration
Your opinions are valued
Best
Mike
Hi Mike,
We've been looking into SiteStudio by Psoft (http://www.psoft.net/SS/site_studio_info.html) based on recommendations here at WHT. If anyone knows of any good alternatives, though, I would also be interested in hearing about them.
cartika-andrew 10-20-2003, 06:22 PM I agree, sitestudio works pretty well. Our customers seem to like it.
submenu 10-20-2003, 07:31 PM I've been looking at http://www.webeditplatinum.com/index.php
Its a little pricey, but you can add your own templates and its more advanced than Psoft's sitestudio. Only real downside is that the editor only supports I.E.
uneedawebsit 10-20-2003, 07:59 PM With SiteStudio, I am assuming that it has some sort of access control to allow the user to create the web pages in their own home directory?
How does it do that?

You set the ftp path to tell it where to upload the site.

Very true.
But as the guy said, he finds that too time and cost consuming.
I'd certainly vouch for SiteStudio, pSoft did a solid job with it, and customers seem to love it

Whiteboard is $99.00 per seat. PSoft is basically $1.50. I do not like PSofts Java requirment. I would love something in another language. But the ones I have seen/tested are all way to expensive for the hosting industry. Just my 2 cents.
NexDog 10-22-2003, 09:54 PM I have been looking at:

But from $400-$1000 - expensive. :(
Try www.soholaunch.com . Knocks the socks off Sitestudio.

DoMeric 11-19-2003, 02:40 PM I'm currently looking into this too. I'm taking a slightly different approach I think. My sites will come with a basic template driven (fill in the blank style) site builder. And if they want to get fancier I'm thinking of advertising something like http://www.livesitebuilder.com.
With Live Site Builder I'd get a kick back if they buy it, and it seems very robust from what I can tell right now. This route has a cheaper initial overhead (just have to pay for a more simple site builder), and lets customers have a few more options (I'd most likely recommened more than one system).
Just a thought.

You can check out our "custom" product here. I submitted a form for your product to see what it was about. I wasn't aware of it being a site builder.

By the way, dude- no one called you the other day wanting your product. I click through from an advertisement (http://66.36.234.7/ads/soholaunch_bannerad_468x60_110703.gif), and filled out a form to see how to "increase revenue", and offer new products, without knowing it was a website builder.
Nice product, terribly poor way of trying to get a customer.

My comment was in relation to your post!
Someone obviously didn't read my post in context.
Never mind

Mark If you are the owner of soholaunch, then you sure are unprofessional coming to a board and attacking someone you claim was a potential customer, while disclosing private information. If you are just an employee, then the owner should be notified. With the "dude" references I certainly hope you are the latter.
Don't know if you had any potential of selling midphase, but I do know this display ended my interest in your product.
alishouki 11-23-2003, 05:32 AM make any site's clone in very cheap price from scriptlance.com,

mreedy 11-24-2003, 09:49 AM Mr. Incognito and Mr. Zak from Midphase,
You know what you are both 100% correct. The post was inappropriate, I extend my sincerest apologies. I am new at the web forums and still learning the proper etiquette for posting.
It won't happen again
