We are looking to get a plain old dedicated server with Linux. We do not care what it comes with because we are going to install all our own software. Here is who we have looked at-
DI - Nice speed but I do not care for the 95% rule.
Catalog.com - Really like their new PIII but they have no 24/7 support and when I ping my friends server with them at any time of the day it gets ping times of at least 125ms(ouch slow).
Rackspace - Nice but a bit pricey.
We are looking for a good fast reliable connection.
So can any one with a dedicated server please give feedback.
Actually, there's a dedicated forum here at WHL simply for dedicated server hosting - do a search or have a look at recent posts and you'll find some great threads on all three.
In case you've missed it completely, here it is : http://www.webhostlink.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=2

Yea, I ve looked through the dedicated forum and wanted more feedback. Also this post was supposed to be in that forum, I guess **** happens, thought cross posting would piss people off.
Guest,
Heck, not a problem. We usually don't mind crossposting since it hardly happens around here *ducks and wait for the cross-posting wars to begin*.
The high-volume, extremely useful site SitePoint (http://www.sitepointforums.com) is hosted over at Rackspace. They're very, very happy with Rackspace, particularly with the excellent support and speed + reliability.

Raq Space is a very good company although a bit pricy.
