View Full Version : Need low cost reseller account
Jon12345 10-20-2003, 11:05 AM Would like a low cost reseller account for sites that need little traffic, low disk space but possibly several domains. Maybe up to 10 or 20.
Would like to have one that has cPanel ideally so at least I am familiar with it.
Do these sorts of accounts charge if you move domains into or out of them?
Regards,
Jon

Generally speaking, no they do not charge per domain, sometime you may have an upper limit on the number of domains you can host in your account.
Jon12345 10-20-2003, 11:35 AM I mean if I point my domains to my hosting account and then repoint them elsewhere, do I get charged? Or is it something I do myself at the place where I buy the domain, like dotster and consequently don't suffer any charges?

Adrian 10-20-2003, 11:37 AM You make the DNS changes at your domain registrar and there is no charge for this :D
foogee 10-20-2003, 12:29 PM Depending on your definition of low cost, a Dathorn (http://www.dathorn.com) account may well suit you. The basic plan is $13.50 per month and allows for multiple domains. The accounts are WHM/CPanel too.
Dathorn have a good reputation in these parts.

Derrick 10-20-2003, 01:23 PM Make sure you do not base your decision solely on cost. There are plenty of "low-cost" hosts. Low-cost hosts with decent quality is another ball game. Like foogee said Dathorn might be a good choice. They are a good value for the money. Good luck in your search and if there is anything we can do to help feel free to contact us :)

Website Rob 10-24-2003, 03:58 AM Depending upon your needs, a Reseller account is usually for people that fit one of the following categories:
1. A desire to provide Hosting for others.
This is similar to buying at Wholesale and selling at Retail. A common way for people that have a real desire to be involved in the Web Hosting business without the need to outlay a lot of money. Responsibilities are also less as you do not take care of managing the Server.
2. You have Clients that need Hosting.
This is a typical situation that most Web Designers and/or Graphic Artists find themselves in. It's only natural that your Clients will also look to you as their "Web Guru" and expect a lot, when it comes to anything Web related.
3. You have a lot of personal sites or Domains.
For those that really enjoy doing their own programming and creating Web sites for personal use, a Reseller account is perfect. It could also be that you have a few friends or family members that want you to "help" with their Web sites as well.
As Cpanel provides for Hosting muliple Domains, a regular Hosting would be cheaper and might also serve your needs.

Im not trying to be a pain but its bluewho just so he can find it ;)
Histyle is pretty decent - I've been with them for a year with no complaints or service issues. They have a low end reseller package that might do it for you.
