I'm running an intranet server on IIS 5.0, but am having some trouble with the connection staying alive. Right now, the development is only on my machine, but IIS 5.0 keeps loosing the connection to my computer; I have to keep restarting IIS 5.0 on my system about every 5 minutes. Anyone seen this before?

Make sure you have Service Pack 2 installed, this almost sounds like code red doing this....

Service Pack 2 is installed, and this web server has never been open to the public Internet. In fact, this entire machine is only a couple days old. Strange eh?

Yes, very strange for Windows to crash every 5 minutes, it usually crashes ever 2 for me...


Let me think about it, maybe someone else will get it, or I'll think of something else other than the fact windows sucks :P

Was the computer ever connected to the Internet? It sure sounds just like Code Red.

Just an FYI, The Code Red patches were not included in SP2. There are PRESP3 patches.

There is an IIS patch out there for an exploit that causes IIS services to stop running repeatedly

Run the following patch, Worked for me
