I was just wondering if many people invest in new webhosting companys or contribute loans to them with of course a return on your money with extra funds. or a portion of the company. Just wondering if many people do this i was thinking about starting a big company i have a background and reasonable proof that i will suceed. I am not asking for any investors yet i am just wondering if many people do it or would be interested in doing it.

I hope you put that resonable proof into a more formal business plan. If you were to contact more serious investors, most likely the "proof" they want would be in a form of a business plan, outlining this and that, not just your own reasoning.

It's more common than you'd think, i myself have a silent 49% share in 3 small web hosting companies, and have heard the very same thing lots of times from other owners

Really? how much capital do you usauly put up? Of course i would outline every detail not just reasoning as any business would be required too.

I have also provided capital for someone starting a web hosting company. I received 50% profit for 6 months.
adam91: Depends on how good your proposal and presentation is. Also depends on what your goals are and what all you will be needing to start with.
Be sure to include plenty of information about how you plan to market your company and what you will do to stand out from the rest.
