OK, I need advice.

Here is my story: in March this year I bought a message board from a guy who created it in September last year.

In 6 months, I think that I've developed it nicely; it now has 10 times more members and 15 times more posts.

For whatever reason the former owner has decided that he wants to destroy the server. He claims to be 13, that could be an explanation for his behaviour I guess.

Anyway, yesterday he has borrowed the account of one of my super mods and has deleted about 6,000 posts...

Of course he and the former mod are now banned, but he keeps making threats on AIM, telling me how he is going to kill the site etc.

What would you do if you were me?

Thx,
-Chris.

ps: BTW, he also happens to be a web host and a Nocster reseller... who would have thought?

Well.. If its vBulletin.. .htaccess the /admin and /mod directories..

Have all mods and admins update their passwords.. Be sure to be running the latest version of the bulletin board software.. If you are the server owner, make sure it is secure also..

Then also be sure you are listed fully as the owner fo the domain so he can't try to transfer the domain away...

As long as you are fairly secured with all the patches, security, and configurations, just sit back and keep a watch.

Have IDS installed so that you know if any attacks is taking place and you can trace back if needed.

If you know his IPs, drop all his IPs from your server, and if needed, drop all his servers IPs as well so that he can't use it to do anything against you.

Might want to try contacting his ISP and/or parents.

The server is secure; as far as his IP, he seems to looove AOL. Not much I can do here since AOL users go through a bunch of proxies.

Asverse's reply is more the kind of answer I was looking for ;)

Anywaym if you can keep the suggestions coming...thanks :S

You can still contact AOL with the IP information, time the IP was recorded, and any information you have regarding him. Including name, e-mail address, etc.
