View Full Version : reliable Windows 2003?
superfrog 10-15-2003, 02:08 PM I recently have 2 - 3 sites that will need asp.net.
Been searching around for great host providing this service but can seem to find any with a great rep. Thus i am posting to get some recommendation for web host that provides Windows 2003 hosting with asp.net 1.1
most important criteria is Reliable, Great Support and uptime.
thanks
John[H4Y] 10-15-2003, 11:17 PM I've heard good reviews of maximumasp.com. We refer our Windows seeking customers to them often. It's not cheap though.
cubs_fan 10-16-2003, 11:18 AM It is very tricky to find a good host in windows platform.
i am using coolwebhosting.biz for my windows host. They are in business from past two and half years. I have never seen any host with as much features as they provide. Currently they are also running a promotion, so you can take a look.
Best Luck!
NW - Sayed 10-16-2003, 11:32 AM Hello superfrog,
The BEST in the Windows hosting Section is http://crystaltech.com
They have spent millions of $$$ just on their web base control panel for windows which beats any windows host. They are in the process of offering 2003 , check it out ;)
Go for CRYSTALTECH and you will never repent. ( personal exp )
Enjoy
superfrog 10-16-2003, 11:46 AM thanks for your recommendation.
yeah, trying to find a good .net base hosting is tough as some host might not offer certain components and etc...
any more recommendations?
Kaumil 10-16-2003, 12:15 PM We're using Windows 2003 Server for several managed clients, so far it's stable and very good.
RyanK 10-16-2003, 01:28 PM So far Windows 2003 has been working well for us. Just make sure while your finding a W2K3 host that they have all their ducks in a row, so to speak. W2K3 is much different to control then W2K, in regards to hosting so I would ask for a trial to ensure that your scripts work properly on the new box.
This comes from personal experience.
tomkohlt 10-17-2003, 07:33 AM crystaltech is good and affordable.
orcsweb is super reliable (5 minutes downtime a year!) but dearer.
But still lots cheaper than maximumasp.
aspwebhosting is a Readers' Choice Award winner for 2003 (Visual Studio magazine)
Others to consider :
Alentus
Sectorlink
SitePlot

hostingasia 11-01-2004, 01:43 AM I think most win hosting co. provide 1.1 nowadays and should be very easy to locate.
Some of our US MSDN member asked us for .Net Framework 1.2 Beta as well.
ldcdc 11-01-2004, 01:46 AM Last post was on 10-17-2003 04:35 PM ;)
HostingStar 11-01-2004, 08:00 AM I thing that 1.2 Framework was never in alfa.
Version 2.0 is in beta.
Regards
hostingasia 11-01-2004, 08:46 AM Typo, 2.0 should be.
Ops...didn't notice it was an old post, I am so sorry.
I was searching for "Windows Server 2003" and posted the reply without realizing the last post date.
realvaluehosting 11-01-2004, 10:59 AM I think this thread should be closed it is very old and the thread starter must have found a hosting provider by now ;)
